My 5 month old has been waking up every few hours a night with bad gas for the last week or so. She's EBF, nothing has changed in my diet, so I'm not sure what's up. She has been teething- one tooth broke through earlier in the week. I've been giving her Tyelenol for the pain so I'm wondering if that could be causing it- or maybe swallowing excess saliva? Any ideas?

my 6mo does the same thing when teething. Then I cant figure out is it teething is it gas? She wakes up every 20 - 60 min all night long cries then farts and then rubs her eyes and looks tired/ Poor thing I cant imagine having gas so bad that it wakes you up

I think it must have to do with swallowing a lot of air when sucking on everything in site or putting everything in her mouth? Maybe the spit swallowing too

This makes sense. I've been going nuts trying to figure out if it's something I'm eating but this gas issue has really just been going on since she's been teething.

Definitely could be it. I used to think mine had gas since he'd wake up every hour some nights and be passing wind, but I think now he was crying so much for tummy pain/upset that he gulped a lot of air into his stomach and therefore had to pass it out. Have you tried gripe water or gas drops? We still end up using the gripe water sometimes.
