Why do people feel the need to say really scary things to pregnant women? Do I look like I need to know about your friend's 3rd trimester loss?? Now I'm all freaked out.

I pretty much leave all pregnancy talk off the table for this reason (except with family who know I don't need to hear the negative stories). I must project that to strangers as well, b/c no one generally mentions my belly or pregnancy like I hear happen to so many of my other pregnant friends.

Ugh. I hate it so much. I have a hard enough time keeping myself from reading too many stories online about third trimester losses and full term losses (poor mamas, I really feel for them and know they need our support but at this point in my pregnancy I will sit and sob for 20 minutes everytime I read of a loss)- the last thing I need is someone telling me stories in person. And all the other lovely gems that people like to say to you to get you all worked up. My grandma (who has now passed) once told me when I told her I was painting, "well, dont stretch your arms too much. Oh, well, I guess its still a little too early to get the cord wrapped around her neck." WTF!?

So far, this time I have only gotten one comment and it a stoner kid saying that it was too bad I was having a kid in 2012 because he would die before he turned a year old.
