He's pro-choice. That's the biggest for me. I'll be darned if some man is going to tell me that a 8 week old embryo's "life" is more important than a woman's, whose rights are already protected because she is a actual, living, breathing, human being.

But that's not enough to make me vote for him. I doubt abortion will become illegal in my lifetime (at least I hope not). I know I'm not voting for Bush though.

Because he knows what war is actually like. I doubt he would have dragged us into this money hole of a war. What have we really accomplished?

He's not confined to some cowboy stereotype.

He's well-spoken, educated.

His wife rocks! C'mon Laura speak out for your peeps, help the educators out!

Will think of more later...

Kerry and Bush seem a lot alike and this one is harder but here goes....

Kerry would give the country a fresh start.

Kerry would have more respect from the international community (whether it's warrented or not)

I was impressed with Kerry's approach toward Reagan's time of memorial last week.

Kerry might have an intelligent energy policy.

Concerns about Kerry.

Isn't he pro death penalty?

Pro Choice (I'm pro life)

Fiscal responsibility (not sure he would balance the budget any better than Bush.

"The rich" (this and that....I'm afraid he would consider our family "rich" but we're really middle class and if you divide our resources by the people in our family (tax deductions) we're pretty modest)

(again, I may edit because I'm tired)

Sadly, this is probably the reason a lot of people have. Bush just makes me sick. :puke He thinks he's been a great leader and done great things for this country and I just don't know what he's talking about.

I like Kerry because he seems less religious. Bush's religious-ness is scary. God wanted him to be president?? OK...

I'll take a president listening to the will of the people over one who waits for Daddy and Daddy's friends to tell him what to think.

Very true.

But I'd rather have that, than a wanna-be dictator.

Actually, no you don't. You may think you know, but Bush is a master at bait-and-switch politics.

Evidence:

* His "Clear Skies" plan, which actually increases pollution.

* His "Healthy Forests" plan, which actually opens old-growth forests to loggers.

* His "tax cuts for the middle class," which actually increase the tax burden on the middle class and decrease it on the very wealthy.

* He insisted his tax cuts would not harm Social Security. Now Greenspan says Social Security will have to be cut to pay for the tax cuts.

* His "No Child Left Behind" mandate, which he refuses to fully fund.

* His deceitful budgets, which consistently contain less funding for programs than he inititally proposes. See http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp...&notFound=true

* His deceit on the Medicare bill. He knew the plan would cost several hundred million more than what he told Congress, but he deliberately kept the real number from them until after it passed. http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/news/8174963.htm?1c

Thanks for the laugh! But seriously, Bush is actually like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're gonna get, because he tells ya one thing and then does another.

"I will not engage in nation building."
"I'm a uniter not a divider."
"I have been very candid about my past."
"We have found the weapons of mass destruction."

Clear Skies? Healty Forests? Gimme a break.
Kerry is one of the most consistent politicians out there.

On Education: For the past 8 years, John Kerry has received a 100% rating from the National Education Association.
On a Woman's Right to Choose: Planned Parenthood and NARAL gave Kerry a 100% rating.
On Labor Rights: The AFL-CIO has given John Kerry a 91% lifetime rating, including a 100% rating in 2003.
Do you have some evidence to back this up? If you do, cough it up.

Apparently non-factual negative campaigning really does work.

Although the allegations of Kerry flip-flopping have been disproved repeatedly, they will not go away with the amt of money behind them. I *love* the examples of how he flip flopped--- over a period of like TWELVE years. Uh, it's called changing your mind to fit with your changing world. Meanwhile, the same flip flop occurs w/the other candidate in a period of months.

Bush ran a year long platform in the 2000 campaign as a "compassionate conservative".

He blew that utterly and completely within weeks of being in office.

But for the 2004 campaign I know very clearly what I will get from Bush: lies, lies, and well.. more lies.
