At almost 41 weeks I am in the same place as some of you....

At this point I am about ready to go for a bike ride or to shovel the driveway. I've tried EVERYTHING "they" suggest, to no avail. I think this little one just wants to stay in there and drive me crazy. Everybody says "she'll come when she's ready" and I know that is true but I'm about to loose it. I haven't slept in days and with contractions, the feeling that somebody socked me on the cervix from the inside and being trapped in my house I am seriously going out of my mind.

I stopped working right before Christmas and I'm about ready to call them up and say I want to come back because quite obviously this baby is NEVER coming out.

I'm sorry to be such a whiner, but I just needed to let it out.

Oh, lots of big hugs coming your way!!! I feel the exact same way! I am so frustrated, done, etc. I spent half my day yesterday either on my hands and knees or rolling/bouncing on my exercise ball. I woke up this morning and just cried and cried. Fingers crossed (and legs uncrossed) we both go into labor today!

I'm right there with you ladies, and feeling it every minute of the day. I've been saying "any day now" for so long that it's starting to sound ridiculous. :/

Whine away! I'm only 3 days over and quite anxious too. I've been terribly nauseated since last night, so I'm hoping it's a prelabor sign. But the thought of eating anything at all makes me want to puke, which is no way to build stamina for labor! I'm trying walks, acupressure points, and DTD to try to get things moving along. Spicy food is next on the list, but since I hate spicy food I'll probably just end up with worse nausea and diarrhea. Our babies WILL come out!!

You ladies are probably just too good at being pregnant that your babies are happy where they are! Good luck. I hope you go soon. I felt the same way with my last pregnancy but for some reason I am feeling very chill about the baby coming whenever she comes (although, that's not really fair to say because I am getting induced 2 weeks early.)

I feel the same way, although I shouldn't. I am only 38w5d today. But this is farther than I have ever gone, and I am hurting SO bad. I never thought I would go this far, and I have the feeling he may be getting pretty big in there. Ds was 8.2 at 38 weeks, dd 6.13 at 37, so he very well could be over 9lbs right now. Which is fine, I love big babies, and I know I can push him out, I just HURT! My pelvic bone has separated, so I can hardly walk, and I have ctx ALL night every night, so I haven't slept in a good two weeks. I don't even bother timing anything, because they never go anywhere, they just hurt.

I could have written that.... with a few minor differances. I am 39 weeks 3 days and DD came at 37 w 3 days. I am in pain and big daddy is pushing for castor oil. we have tried everything else but I am just going to wait for him to come. I can't sleep either. Oh yeah... I start a new semester tomorrow. This is going to be fun. NOT!

One of my favorite episodes of Roseanne is called "Labor Day." You can watch it on Youtube. Jackie is overdue and freaking out about it. Laurie Metcalf won an Emmy for that episode. Check it out. Overdue mama's will get a good laugh out of it.

im sure you all are beyond sick of suggestions, so first i will offer just hugs and support

and theni will suggest what my midwife was about to start me on, inserting EPO capsules to ripen the cervix, she was going to have me do 8 or 9 in a diaphragm or instead cup and insert it vaginally. her strong thinking is that ripen the cervix and the rest will follow, i hear it works well, YMMV

hahaha! That is hilarious! I am so sorry that happened to you! I just laughed so hard though, and really needed that! Thank you for sharing! I saw the outer part fall out this morning in the shower and thought that was funy, you've got me beat!

So 9-10 capsules, huh? That's a lot but I guess I am willing to try anything...I don't have a diva cup thing though. And we have a huge snow storm coming tomorrow (8-16inches!) so I'll prob go in to labor tonight or tomorrow! And if not, they want to induce me with cytotec thursday! Which is absolutly not happening. we'll just get snowed in wed, have lots of sex, chow on spicey food, visualize, rub pressure pts, continue to nurse my 2.5yo dd....and what else!? Hopefully I'll go into labor thursday duing the day. I will be 42wks on Sat. Ugh, come on baby just come on your own!

Good luck to all! let's get these beans out! :)

I doubt a dive cup would let you put that many in them, they fit so much more like a cervical cap than a diaphragm. The instead cup is a over the counter, disposable, diagram shaped menstrual cup, much bigger than a diva cup and pretty easy to find, often even in a very mainstream store. I think the large amount and doing it a few times a day so it's constant is an important part.

Good luck ladies, we are rooting for you! Babies come out, babies come out!

I am glad it made you laugh! It was really stuck in my butt hair too! in the middle of the night it was uncomfortable so I pulled a chunck out. In the morning I washed my crack with a cloth and there was still some in there finally I took a long hot shower and took the sprayer off and sprayed my butt and it STILL was there. Finally I got it out. but it sure was an ordeal! anyways that was prolly TMI but I really wanted to give you all a good laugh and at my expense is okay too! :)

I'm at 40 weeks and 6 days now and I'm feeling depressed about it. I was so sure this baby would be closer to my EDD than DS1, who was born 10 days over. I get BH in the evenings but they always peter out within a couple hours of going to bed. Baby also keeps flipping around. He's going from anterior to posterior to transverse. My cervix was still long at my last appt. I am so, so terrified of ever needing Pitocin or a Cesarean that I'm afraid I would pass out if confronted with the possibility. I'm trying DTD, EPO, staying active, and sitting on my birth ball. I'll go to an acupuncturist if it takes much longer, though. It especially feels like nothing is going on because if I didn't have my stomach I wouldn't feel pg at all. I have no other symptoms, not swollen ankles, heartburn, hemorrhoids, nothing. OK, that's nothing to complain about but it just makes me feel as though I could pass for an utterly normal non-pregnant woman now, too. I had DH take DS to school today because I can't stand the "You're STILL pregnant?!" looks and inquiries. Bleh.

This is exactly how I feel. I am 38.5 weeks as well and I am miserable. I am also thinking the same thing about size. My last baby was 8 lbs and 8.5 oz @ 38 weeks on the dot, the one before him was 7 lbs and 11 oz @ 37 weeks and 1 day. Soo yeah this could easily be a 9 or 10 lb baby and she definitely feels differently, I am not afraid of her size but I am super anxious to get her out here. I also have my first stretch marks after 4 pregnancies, get nauseated every time I bend over for the first time, and my belly button is about to disappear for the first time. Of all of this what is really getting to me is that I have been having prodomal labor or something like it for two weeks now. Last night I had about 6 hours of contractions that were 8 minutes apart. Then nothing. Soooo frustrating.
