Ok, the prob. is NOT getting her to go to sleep. She nurses and falls asleep. Then, I try to lay her down and WHAM, she's awake and crying. Normally, I just lay her down and she's fine-stays asleep. Lately (two-three days), I lay her down and she wakes up-mad.

I just need to vent b/c dh doesn't get my frustration and I have no one else to talk to (how sad is that )

Thanks for listening...

My girl does the same thing and she's 7 months old, she goes down fine at night, but to take a nap when I lay her down she wakes up and is so upset. Frustrating!

Most of my kids have done this. I try to wear them during naps instead of putting them down so I can get more done.

Wow, I could've written your post. Obviously I have no answers since I'm in exactly the same situation. I'm all for babywearing but sometimes I just need her to sleep somewhere else besides on me!! Sometimes it works if I nurse her to sleep and then lay her down in her bed with my boob still in her mouth, then gently ease away. Not so easy on my back though.

I guess you can take some comfort in knowing you're not alone!

Maybe she's not in deep sleep yet, and so any little thing (like laying her on the bed) will wake her? That happens a lot with my DD (she's almost 6 months now). I have to wait & rock her, or just hold onto her, until a deep sleep cycle starts. HTH!

my 7 month old does the same. after she falls asleep while nursing (day time) I put her in the graco poupisan (sp???) swing. the seat is cupped so its a better transition from my arms to swing rather that to lay her flat on her back in bed.
