wierd itchiness in that area but not vaginal

Anyone have this?

I have had this itchiness for a bit over a week now that is pretty much all north of my urethra, like literally at the top of the crack (don't know what that area is officially called), but not down toward the vagina. It's also a little redder and more swollen there, but that might be b/c of some scratching and I used some tea tree oil and may have used too much. I'm not sure if it was red before the tea tree oil and it actually is not so red now after rinsing a few times with clean water. I thought maybe it was linked to increase vaginal discharge at end of pregnancy getting up there? I also had more ph in my urine this time so my mw suggested more Vit C and I'm eating cranberries, but I honestly don't think it's a UTI b/c there's no burning when I pee, no cramping, no cloudy pee, no urge to pee with nothing coming out, nothing like when I've had a UTI before. It's just itchiness at the top. My other thought is that my pants are a little tighter now and maybe being a little tighter in the crotch is causing it, along with the discharge. Has anyone's normal end of pregnancy mucousy, sticky discharge caused itching (ie, not yeasty or cottage cheesy or smelly, just thick and mucousy)?

I'm just trying to make sure I don't ignore anything I shouldn't. I've asked my mw too.

Thanks!

I have been itchy for a while now. Not yeast...just vulvar itching. Annoying as hell if you ask me.

It seems to be worse when I sweat, or when my discharge is worse. Any place on my body that is getting more blood flow and sweats gets itchy right now.

I wear a panty liner prettty much all day, it does better if I can keep it dry, sleep with no bottoms on..so on and so forth.

My urine has been clear the whole time, ph good...so I don't know what it is other than being damp.
I have treated for everything else, and nothing has stopped it other than keeping as dry as possible.

Could it be yeast?

I hope you didn't use TTO straight. You really shouldn't do that, as you can easily get a sensitivity to it (especially if using too much, as you think you did). Try diluting it with olive oil or any other carrier oil you might have (most people have olive oil in their home). TTO is great stuff, and it works just as well diluted as it does straight, but using it diluted will help avoid getting a sensitivity to it.
No, I didn't use TTO straight, like two drops in five or six ounces of water. But it definitely increased irritation even diluted.

I tried just rinsing with clean water and not wearing underwear to bed and felt a lot less irritation last night so I'm just going to keep rinsing when I pee instead of paper and see if that doesn't help by constantly washing the vaginal discharge off that whole area.

I don't think it's yeast, although I've never had a full blown yeast infection. It isn't clumpy or smelly so I'm inclined to think it's not that.

Thanks for your replies

Water doesn't dilute TTO - TTO is an oil, so it just sits on top of the water rather than getting mixed in. To dilute an EO, you need to use oil of some sort (olive being a good one that most people have). So that might be why you had the irritation from it. It wasn't really diluted.

I had alot of yeast infections pre-preg and a bit during preg last time, and I have never had anything clumpy or smelly! My only symptom was itching, and alot of it was in the pubic hair area.

You could try ACV on the area, as if it's yeast, that might help. And if it's not yeast, it won't hurt.

Okay, I'll try it tonight with olive oil.

What's ACV?
If you can try and wear no underwear during the day at some point too and soak in a tub with just water in it.

My mom`s best friend`s dh is an internal medicine m.d. and he told my mom back in the 70`s that the best thing a woman could do for vaginal health & prevention of yeast infections is to always sleep without underwear, every night. It is so important to let that area "breathe" at night. Even after birth, just put a towel on top of chux pad to sleep so you can air out it out at night.

I totally second the no underwear thing. I used to get frequent UTIs when I was a child...my doc said no undies. I don't think I have slept with undies (except for the odd occassion) since I was 5 or 6.
