Ok, I can palpate my belly and can get a rough idea where this critter is...

HIGH...like almost at the very top of my fundus..

Now, seriously. I feel him/her move up by the fundus, but I"m *also* feeling movement down by my pubic area...is the kid *That* long already? Or what?

OOOH the 16th is just so far away..

Yes I had an early one to see if there were two in there, but sometimes those are off...or whatever..

I DONT KNOW! ARGH!!!

*sigh*

I've had similar things happen. Yesterday she was poking a rib there for a while and an hour or so later she was kicking my colon down low. I figure she's swimming...sometimes it feels like she's doing the darn backstroke in there the way she rolls and moves.

Isn't it cool?

Hope that's it. My anxiety has been going through the roof since I "measured big" at my last appointment.....my US is in 10 days...*sigh*

If it is twins there goes my homebirth

Yep, I have been having the same feelings. I will feel a kick in my bladder and then another something about 2 inchs above my belly button! I have been joking with my dh that maybe we are having twins and they just missed one on the past 3 ultrasouds

From what everyone else is saying though it sounds pretty normal

Well these are like Right by my ribs and right down in my pubis area.

Of course I *AM* short and it's my torso that's the shortest of me...I dont have much room in there on the best of days let alone during pregnancy. hehe

According to the ticker that I have on my signature on another forum, at 22 weeks (which is where I'm at) the baby can measure up to 11 inches long. It seems likely that your baby is just very active!

aah I see. See with my pregnancy with my DD I was rather detached from the whole thing because I couldn't believe it was happening, I was way more concerned about survival than what was going on in my uterus ya know?

My midwife told me at my last appt. that the baby grows lengthwise first and then "fattens" up and grows sideways....made sense to me....

MW has not met DH, but asked if DH was tall (he is 6'3") because the baby had grown so much in the past four weeks (my fundal height was 23 at 21 weeks)...she is anticipating a tall baby....

My boy is a pro swimmer (too bad my hubby's swimmers weren't as professional, but that's an entirely different story) and I have had to literally chase him around with the doppler from 13 weeks on. Plus, at our u/s at 17w4d, the tech had to chase him around to get the measurements she needed. He kicks all the time and it's all over the map. I'll feel it on the right side, then the left side, then the middle, the high, then low. At my last appointment, I was measuring at 18 weeks, which was right on target, but my husband and I aren't really tall people, so we're not expecting a tall baby. Having a larger than average baby would certainly cause your uterus to grow at a faster rate. But then again, if you haven't had an ultrasound yet, you could have two of them in there!

My OB said an active baby is a healthy baby, which is just fine with me! Kick away little guy!

I know I just have one in there and boy, she sure is a wiggler. She is all over the place. I love feeling the kicks everywhere. I will miss it when she gets bigger and her movement is restricted....
