I have some Alexis smalls and they look so tiny I can't imagine needing anything smaller. Dd was 7lbs4 but she was in disposables at the time.

I kind of think I should get some proraps newborn size with the notch...but I don't know.

All I have so far for the new babe are:

6 Alexis smalls (10-13 lbs)
2 Snapwrap smalls (8-13 lbs)
12 infant prefolds
12 onesize wahm fitteds (these get really small but bulky)

What should I add? The rest of my stash is dd's size: large, about 25-30 lbs.

Thanks,

Jen

I'm no expert but I don't think you "need" newborn covers, but you might be happy to have them all the same. If you could find some cheap ones that would be best probably. I've been wondering the same thing myself. My baby isn't due until June so I have lots of time and have only bought a few things so far (and those before I knew I was pg!!) I'm mostly going to buy small covers and diapers. My son was 8lbs 4oz at 38 weeks, so I don't think my baby will be really small. Still those newborn diapers and covers are so cute - I couldn't resist some newborn dipes from www.fluffymail.com and I know when they stock the newborn covers I'll probably buy a couple!

You dont need NB covers but they sure are nice!

I would personally have one dozen prefolds for each day you do not want to do laundry in addition to a moderate number of fitteds. If you want to wash every three days... then have three dozen. You can change nearly 20 diapers in a day. Especially when you are changing them and they poop/pee while you are snappi-ing
