I got a new pair of wool soaker shorts in the mail today, and they are navy blue. I lanolized them, and when I pulled them out of the water it was blue. Does this mean when ds wears them and they get wet the diaper will get blue on it too? I don't want to ruin any of the new fitteds!

If it makes a difference, it's a soaker made by New Life Woolens- the dragonfly shorts that were on ebay earlier this week. I don't remember if the auction stated anything about the yarn and how it was dyed.

They might, but it shouldn't stain. I've had that happen a couple of times and it always washes out

Me, too. I've had things come off a bit on my dipes, but it always washes out.

To set color, you can add some vinegar to a soak.

When that happens (and it is usually with red soakers...sometimes with blue) the color comes right out in the wash. Maybe because the diapers are cotton or hemp and the dye won't bond with those fibers.

Yup....a few of my soakers bleed but it always washes out!
