Let me preface this by saying that I really really want to cosleep. The reality is that ds is waking every 1-2 hours to nurse. I'm exhausted and returning to work soon (so there goes the afternoon nap). I know that ds will sleep longer if he is in a stroller or car seat. He has outgrown his infant car seat, but he used to sleep 7 hours in that at night, then move to our bed, where he nursed every 1-2 hours until time to get up. I was hoping that he'd learn to sleep just as long in bed with us. But no luck. Though we've only tried a week. Should I just stick with that in the hopes that he'll eventually learn to sleep well with us? Or do you think I can let him sleep in his stroller and then move him to our bed and then when he is older he can then sleep with us all night? Also, if you have any tips I'd sure appreciate them.

Hi Rebekah, I'm in the SF Bay Area too
.

I haven't been through this myself, but my instincts tell me that you should allow your baby to sleep in whatever place/position/situation that allows him to sleep best. If that's in the bed with you, awesome. If its in a crib, so be it. If its a car seat or swing, that's fine too. More sleep for both of you is better than trying to force cosleeping if its just not working out right now. Maybe you could try again in a few weeks and see how he does then?

Good luck, and wishing you both lots of
.
