I have one alcoholic beverage a day about 4 times a week. I don't personally think it's a big deal. However, I also drink one cup of coffee every morning. Just my opinion...
I have no problems drinking a couple glasses of wine myself once in a while
One glass of wine will be metabolized by your liver in 2 hours, no longer detectable in your milk. Even during the 2 hour period, there is only a few drops in your breastmilk. Babies get much more alcohol in over the counter and prescription meds.

However, I don't advocate drinking while BFing. But a drink won't hurt. More damaging (potentially) is handling a baby after drinking. So, make sure you have a designated diaperer.

My LC said that if you're too drunk to drive, you shouldn't bfeed. I have a girlfriend who went out and drank but pumped in advance so she had milk for dd, then she dumped the milk from when she had been drinking.

But you're just talking about 1 drink, I do it often and think it's fine. I sip slowly and drink plenty of water with it.

But I wonder about a boyfriend who wants you to do something you are not entirely comfortable with. Could you go out and drink non-alcoholic? And why would it matter? What else might he want you to do down the road?
no not boyfriend...best friend....NO BOYFRIENDS WANTED>>>>>anyways and she didnt say I had to drink...just go out for a bit..but thanks for the concern......

I see nothing wrong with 1 drink.

Since you are concerned, my guess is you will order your 1 drink and not drink it because your conscience will be thinking of your kids anyways.

YES, You can have a couple glasses of wine especially with food!!!

I work at a Lactation Center and our MD. who is also a IBCLC says " if you can hold your baby you can nurse your baby"

Here's kelly mom's advice on alcohol:

I also feel comfortable with one or two drinks, especially with food.

An important thing to remember is that the amount of alcohol in the milk is about the same as the amount in your blood. So it isn't as if the babe is getting 40% alcohol, more like 0.04% -- there's more in medicines or vanilla extract.
Definitely ok! Enjoy.
