We started with the Prince Lionheart (this was in 2001). It lasted through sposies and well into cloth until I noticed in 2003 there was a crack in the top (where the warmer was) and threw it away. It held plenty of wipes, I couldn't tell you how many but more than I needed as I liked to change them every other day or so (I used either a wahm wipe solution or my own with EOs and H2O).

Of course, I can't recall which we bought to replace it, but it was the same style with the warmer in the top. Same review except it didn't crack and is boxed up waiting for #2!

Honestly, with cloth wipes, I don't think you want to maximize the number that you can get in there...of course then again I CDed a toddler and not a newborn.
I would put the dry wipes in, pour my pre-made solution over it (that I kept handy in a jar and made about once a week) until they were plenty damp.

I use the one you can get at Babies R Us. I do the same thing as Melaniee with pouring the solution over til they were all wet. I LOVE it.

I have no idea how many it holds but I never felt like I was refilling constantly even with 2 in dipes.

I use 8x8 wahm made wipes and my wipe solution varies from just water to water with apricot oil, Tea Tree Oil, Lavendar, baby shampoo, etc...

We have a Prince Lionheart warmer, we started using it in Dec 2002 and it is still going strong, no problems at all.

I couldn't give you a number for how many wipes it holds, but it's enough for several days with a toddler, and I wouldn't want to put more than that in anyway, since wet wipes can get funky if you let them sit. I prefer to put small batches in (a day's worth?) and refill as needed.

Our wipes are 8"x8" two-ply cloth wipes, they all came from either Darling Diapers or The Enchanted Nursery.

I also use 8x8 flannel wipes (a mix of single and double layers). I just wet them, wring them out slightly and put them in the warmer. I only ever put in a dozen or so at a time because I don't like them sitting in there too long, but I could definitely put more in.

Does your wipe solution last longer in a spray bottle or other container, rather than a wipe warmer? Could I make a gallon of wipe solution and pour it in the warmer when I need it refreshed or will it get just as musty?

Thanks for everyone's help!

This is what we do and it works great. We use a distilled water jug. The first time I made the solution I used distilled water but tried it once with regular water from the tap and it works just as well. Money is tight so I didn't want to buy water if I didn't have to. So any way once a week or so I put a squirt of baby shampoo ,5 drops of tea tree oil,10 drops of lavendar oil and then fill up the rest of the jug with water. The solution stays fresh smelling until we use it up. I just add wipes and solution to the warmer as needed. It helps to add the new solution right after a change so it has time to warm up before the next change. Hth .

Thanks! That helps a lot! What size is the bottle? Do you need to refrigerate it or do you keep it by the changing area? I really like the idea of making it in advance because I'm too lazy to do it every morning.

It's a gallon jug- like milk jug size. We just keep it by the changing area. I never thought to refrigerate it but I guess you could to be safe. I've found this solution also works great to wipe out the diaper pail after I put the diapers in the washing machine. I'm glad I could help- as you can see I'm just a newbie here!

I finally bought a wipes warmer about 3 months ago and have yet to try it out.
: I kept thinking when I finished off my baby bits I would do the warmer- I have 2 baby bits left. I just squirt the baby bits solution on to a wipe before I wipe.
