my dd was just diagnosed with her 2nd or 3rd bladder infection. she's 18 mos old. could this have anything to do with wiping at changes?

I don't wipe her usually unless she was super wet or poopy. When I do wipe her, I usually use water. Her daycare wipes her with water at every change.

I used to make a fancy wipe solution (fancy meaning cali baby wash, tea trea, lavender, aloe vera gel & water). Should I start making it again? Should I use it at every change?

My 4 yo used to get them, starting at around 2 yrs. She had 3 or 4. Turns out she is super sensitive to bubble bath and bath soap - she can't have a bubble bath anymore at all, and we have to use baby wash on her still because anything else is very irritating to her - which often leads to a UTI. I know how rough it was on my then 2 yo - I can only imagine how rough it is on your 18 month old. Make sure you are wiping from front to back (which I'm sure you already know and are doing) you might try a solution with tto in it - maybe that will kill whatever bacteria is getting in there causing problems. I would definitely have the ped take a look though - she's so young to be having problems like this! Poor baby!

she did *just* get back from the pediatrician, and she did have the kidney reflux tests a few months back, all of which were negative

I think I'm going to make a tto & lavendar & aloe wipe solution for her and try to wipe her more (nix those 'on the go' coverless in fitteds constant changes?)

Should I make it without baby wash? Or with very little baby wash?

I would make it without the baby wash. I would try adding one ingredient at a time and check for any redness or irritation after each addition.

Honestly, she might still have renal reflux. I know several kids who had negative tests just to have it show up on the tests a few months later. Very frustrating for the parents and painful for the kids who had to endure repeat UTIs.

I hope you figure out what is going on.
