Hi Everyone,
Great news! The Wisconsin breastfeeding bill, AB 104, is scheduled
for a public hearing in the Assembly Health Committee (chair, Rep.
Leah Vukmir) on next Tuesday, March 20th at 11am in 417 North (Gar
Hall) at the Capitol. This is incredible news since last year's bill
never even made it this far.
It is really important to pack the room, so please spread the word.
You should know that one doesn't have to stay for the entire
hearing--they can sign in and register their support, and after the
testimony is heard, the names of all supporters will be read and
tallied. So, even people who can only come for a few minutes can
register their support, though packing the room with lots of moms,
dads and kids will make a huge impression!
If you are interested, you can read a brief statement (5 minutes)
about why this bill is important to you. It is especially important
to change the minds of skeptics who feel this bill is unnecessary or
not needed (some call it a "feel-good" law). So those with stories of
how you have been affected by the lack of breastfeeding rights'
protection in our state, NOW IS THE TIME TO MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD. We
especially need the testimony of health professionals and mothers who
have personal stories of harassment. Many don't believe that
harassment of breastfeeding families exists.
Thank you for helping to support breastfeeding rights in Wisconsin!
Sincerely,
Laurel Franczek
For those planning to come from outside the Madison-area, I've

I will now be submitting the written testimony many of you have sent
to me to the chairs of the Senate and Assembly Health Committees.
HELP SPREAD THE WORD!
(I got this from the WI breastfeeding yahoo group, just wanting to get the word out to everyone I know!)
