WOHM Potluck in NE PDX

582 Views 23 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  InochiZo
I am still willing to host the March WOHM potluck if that works. I did not see a new thread with any other offers so, let me know if I missed it. I do not want to interfere with someone else's plans.

Date: March 25th
Time: 5:00 pm
Location: My NE PDX home (PM me if you are interested in coming and I will give my address)

Even though the intention is to try to get WOHM together, please do not hesitate to bring the whole family.

There was discussion in limiting it to N/NE families in order to meet families in the neighborhood as well as to keep the size manageable but I am not sure that this is entirely necessary. I just hope that expanding the invite does not come around and bite me on the bum. We do not have a large home but we could certainly manage...I think.

Thank you, Sarah, for providing the gracious hosting for the first Potluck. We had a great time with all of the yummy food and lovely people. I really hope that this is something that can carry on from month to month. It is such a nice opportunity to meet other like-minded families and kick back a bit.

We'd love to be there and maybe host the May one.

But....we can only stay an hour....I have to work that night at 7

We'll plan to be there again.

Thanks again for hosting the 1st one Sarah. DH always drags his feet to go to these things and then he has a good time.

I am glad that you are going to come anyway! Even if it is for an hour.

Feel free to bring what ever you would like. Perhaps as people post they can simply state what they are wanting to bring so that people can make plans accordingly. How does that sound?

So, I will start by saying that I will make a couple of kinds of quiche. We will also provide some beer and wine as well although if the group becomes very large I might ask for some contributions to that but we will likely have plenty for the group size that it will probably be.

I hope that people know that this is open to any WOHM that want to come. Even though there was a gathering last month, it is intended to be a drop in sort of a thing. So, if anyone is interested, you are more than welcome to come along.
I am just posting so that this thread will be easier to find. I hope that all you PDX WOHM mamas come join us. It is such a nice way to meet, get the kiddos together and eat yummy food.
I thought I would post again to bring this to the front.

We had such a nice time last month and I really hope that this monthly (hopefully) gathering does not go away.

I know you are out there and would love some time to kick back and hang out with other great WOH mamas.

Be Well!
i posted a link to this thread in the calendar sticky in the washington/oregon/idaho forum and am about to post one in the weekly/monthly thread, too.
We will try to make it, but may be a tad late. Thanks for hosting! And we have your little green pea toy still - we'll bring it!

Sarah
Does anyone have peanut allergies? What kind of food sensitivities do people have? We're a free-range mostly organic household here

I'm itching to try out a new peanut sauce recipe for a Thai dish I make. But....then I was thinking I might want to make my Asian "chicken" salad sans chicken.

Ok, so this time it's in my calendar with a reminder set so hopefully I won't miss it!

We love peanut sauce, Jenn. We'll likely bring something gluten-free/dairy-free.

Thank you for doing that. I didn't realize that there was a calendar.

I am so happy that you have it. It is one of our favorites and I had no idea where we had lost it.

I am so happy that you all are coming. About food preferences, I am not sure really how to address it. There could potentially be a lot of different dietary needs.

Maybe we could have people post their needs and maybe people who have not yet decided on a dish can take it into consideration..as best as possible at least. I think I saw one for gluten/ wheat free.

If you need my address, PM me and I will send it your way.

Please, PM your Addy.
Thanks,
Zoe

opps, I meant to PM that
Don't worry about us. I'll bring something that dd can eat and the rest I don't sweat too much. No one dies if they eat gluten or dairy in our house. It's just an avoidance.
Yup...we are still on.

To all you others that may be interested. It is not too late. Please feel free to join us!
I may be in for the future... the timing works well for me! And I'm in NE.
