DOH!!

I re-organized the pics so they were in the right order (they uploaded in the wrong order) and it posted BOTH sets.
The second "series" of photos is correct.
Lemme go see if I can fix it...

Thanks!

And it's not as corsety looking as the pic makes it out to be, he likes to suck in his gut when I put a diaper on and then eventually relaxes it. but he certainly has a buddha belly!

LOL, and yeah, he's a monster isn't he?
he doesn't seem all that large to me, but we have big babies in my family...my step sis had teeny babies though, and we went to visit them when Corran was about 4mths old. He was heavier than her 2.5 and 1.5yr old daughters!

Her 2yr old was roughly 17lbs when she turned 2!!
I told my mom later that night after they left (we were staying with my mom) "is there something WRONG with corran? he looked like a monster next to the girls!"

And she just laughed at me!

Thanks!!!

Now mine is in the wash, but as soon as it's clean I'll have another go, with a doll this time, not a wiggly dd!

I got it on her yesterday, but it seemed tight around the waist, compared to FB, anyway. The elastic is much tighter in the lining, does it give at all?

I'd really like to be able to use them on my toddler and the new babe, as if they both have separate sets, I know dh will just give up and get out some sposies.
Just need to check that the one-size really does work before I order a load, but don't want to miss this sale!

Had no wicking problems, anyway, stuffed with a cpf, which is just about all I use in pockets.

You guys are quite welcome!

And thanks
I think he's a cutie, but I think I'm biased a little!

If you have any questions about the settings or anything, feel free to ask

Jessica is so busy these days she can't field questions like she used to, but i've been using them quite a bit and gone through the gambit of sizes more or less now, so i'd be happy to help anywhere I can!

Oh, and FYI: sometimes changing the inserts can cause you to need a smaller/larger rise setting. Corran would still be on a medium rise in a thinner insert (like a joeybunz or 4layer fleece) but he's got 6 layers of hemp fleece in there and needs just a touch more room in the crotch for all that padding. But I can put my duckybunz inserts in there (7 layers in the front, 3 in the back) and do a medium snapdown easily!

And "shaped" inserts don't really work well in wonderoos. Like the duckybunz or joeybunz. they are too narrow in the crotch, esp for larger babies. Prefolds actually work better because they are more rectangular. The jamtots 3-layer inserts I have work wonderfully for me (altho 2 probably would have been trimmer and enough for me...lol) and i'm pretty sure wonderfulls would be great too, because while they are shaped they are much more rectangular than hourglass.

So you might have to keep seperate piles of pre-stuffed wonderoos for both babies if you are going to diaper them both with them, you know??

Hubby won't even stuff a wonderoo with my insert system (fold insert in half, stuff diaper. I have 12 inserts and 12 diapers. no brainer) and will use a sposie if there arn't any prestuffed and layed out in the "right" place. LOL. men!

Oh, and the back elastic problem....I find that it doesn't stretch easily like a FB does, but it does have ALOT of give, which is why the wonderoos LOOK snugger around the waist. But I never have a problem with them leaving a mark on my son's back. If you are concerned though, you can inch up the suedecloth portion in the back to use as a buffer between the PUL elastic and the baby....if that makes any sense!
I actually like that the suedecloth is gathered too, because there is less chance of a big chunk of fabric sticking up out of the back of the diaper, I usually check my FB for the fabric peepage, but DH doesn't!

Your little boy sure is a cutey.
I think I might have the solution to our leaks.
I stuffed witht he Wondefulls as usual, on the medium rise setting. One notch tighter. Then I kind of adjusted and straightened the legs a bit more to make sure the fabric etc was where it was supposed to be and the elastic was up higher more towards the crease of her leg.
If this does not work tonight, I am going to take some hemp in a single layer slightly larger than the wonderfulls and use that for additional stuffing.

I WILL conquer this!

Thanks for the pictorial. You are a WOnderoos genius!

Ok Im going to ask this the best way I can- I thought you are supposed to put the wonderoo in the "right setting" with it already stuffed then lay baby down over it and put it on?? Does it matter?? Am I making any sense at all??

ok real quick here's my 2 cents...
to use on a little baby, snap down the rise first, then stuff so the insert only goes to the top of the rise you have it on, there is no sense in folding the insert to make the diaper smaller,
ok, so you have it snapped down, then stuffed, now lay it down, lay baby on it, and snap it around the waist.

Thanks Shan for those pics they are great!

Jess beat me to it!

I should have prefaced the pictures by saying that I took the insert *out* in order to do the pictures, because I would think the 9layers of insert (I have a 3layer jamtot insert that folded the small way = 9layers, large = 6) would make the wonderoo look REALLY puffy on such a small "baby" as the cabbage patch.

I always set the rise first, then put in my inserts. You CAN put your insert in first and then set the rise, but you need to straighten your insert afterwards more often than not. Plus, it's easier for other people to figure out with the rise already set

The pictures of my son though, he's got the insert in at that point!

Corran will pretty much suck whatever he can get into his mouth at this point! He's working (slowly) on his first teeth.
He sucks his thumb, and he sucks any combo of fingers handy...incl his entire fist! hehee...

He still demands a binky to go to sleep though...which I wish he would suck his thumb then, but thats just me. I was a serious thumbsucker myself...hehe.

My dd demands a blankey to go to sleep! She is asleep in my arms right now with a corner of a receiving blanket stuffed in her mouth and another corner in her hand. :LOL

Thanks for the pics
, your ds is adorable. I am going to get some with the sale going on, my question is as far as stuffing goes is a microfiber towel better or a prefold? I use some snapping turtle pockets and I stuff those with microfiber without a problem but I've never tried a 'roo so I don't know if they are different or not. Thanks!

Thanks
I have to admit, I love getting compliments on how cute he is, but I keep telling DH that he ought to be the most happy, since C looks *just* like him as a baby, cept the eyes. Those are mine!

I haven't tried a microfiber towel with any of my pockets, but i've used joeybunz (hemp jersey) duckybunz, and the jamtots inserts...all of which worked pretty well...and infant sized prefolds which worked suprisingly well, albiet a little "poofier" than hemp inserts.

My experience has been, as long as it's rectangular so it fills out the 'roo, it does the job pretty well

The more hourglass inserts ment for Fbs though (joeys and duckys) tend to cause leaking around the legs because they don't fill out the crotch area well enough.

I bought some walmart microfiber towels, but they stick to EVERYTHING when washed, and are pretty poofy in diapers and I prefer to keep mine as trim as they come. So i've been sticking with hemp mostly. I did the infant prefolds because C had graduated to a medium rise setting, and I hadn't bought any inserts specifically for my wonderoos yet. I had been using my small JBs from my FBs with them. Infant prefolds were a little bulkier, but worked very well. My fav inserts thus far has been my jamtots, but I wish I had bought a boatload of wonderfulls when the price was lower! DOH!

You'll have to post how they work with microfiber, but i'm pretty sure they will work fine

I may have to dig out one of my microfiber towels and let you know if they work for me too!

Well his eyes are what make him so cute

Yes those darm WM towels are stuck everywhere. I prewashed one and it was stuck to my butt half that darn day, how embarassing! Out of all of those hemp ones you tired which are the thinnest? I want to add something really thin in mine. The wonderoos are already so thick right now.

For my fuzzibunz I really like my duckybunz because they have 7 layers in the front, and 3 in the rear (for the boy inserts) which makes them super absorbant but trim.
But since they are hourglass shaped, they don't do well in a 'roo.

I got the 3layer jamtot insert and they are trimmer than a prefold and REALLY absorbant. I'm hoping to get a serger for xmas this year ("from" my husband. LOL) and/or a sewing machine. First thing i'm going to do is take a seam ripper to my jamtot inserts and turn my 3layer inserts into 2 layer inserts. Well, probably half or so.

The 3 layer is still very trim, but in the "small" setting they are quite bulky.
If 4 layers of hemp fleece are absorbant enough for you though, 2layer would be the way to go IMHO.

I haven't tried them yet, but i'm *really* sure that the wonderfulls are also a nice trim option, but they are more $$ and since I needed to buy TWELVE at one time, I opted the cheaper route with jamtots.

I've also used a hemp prefold (babykicks) folded up in a 'roo, but they are a little stiffer and just as expensive ifnot moreso, so not worth looking into.

The jamtot and wonderfull are really the only inserts made specifically for a wonderoo that i've seen though, unless you've seen anything else??

I have 36 wonder-full inserts and they are very trim. They are awesome for overnight. i also have a jamtots insert which is great too, but not as trim as the wonder-fulls. What I love is that with the wonderfulls overnight between 2 kids I only have to use 3 inserts 1 and a half for each kid!
My kids are super heavy wetters too!

Ok thanks!! I will either get a few jamtots or maybe try them with a prefold.

Side note: I got a pack of microfiber towels from target and a pack from walmart and the ones from target are much better! They are softer, are not really staticy at all (still a bit but big improvement of WM ones) and they don't look so worn out as quickly. If I buy more I will go to target!
