Hatched on Monday, we picked these guys up last night!

We got (all pullets):
3 Buff Orpingtons
2 Rhode Island Reds
3 Black Australorps
1 Leghorn
1 Gold Laced Wyandotte
1 Silver Laced Wyandotte

We have 3 or 4 silkie chicks that are coming next week. These will be straight run, but I am hoping they won't ALL end up being roos.

I am SO excited.
: The chicks seem to be doing well so far, everybody is eating and drinking and nobody has poopy-butt syndrome.

There is one little red that I already think is going to be top girl. She is so spunky. If we hold any of the others, she wants to be held, too. She waits until everyone else is asleep, then she pops her head up and lets out one loud PEEP! which causes everyone else to jump up from sleep and start running everywhere like mad chickens.
: Then she lays back down and goes to sleep.
I read that RIRs were supposed to be sort of nervous and skittish, but the two we got are definitely the most social.

Everyone is still well. All the girls are eating A LOT and drinking A LOT...and pooping...well, you get the idea. We are having so much fun with them. My kids are SO excited. The coop will be finished shortly, probably before the chicks are ready to go out. I am already dreading their first night in the coop! I'll be worried all night.

That's because you're a good mother hen!
