So dh decides that he wants to take oldest ds to see Harry Potter today. I decide that although we have seen Shrek 2 already I would take the 2 younger ones to see that again so they don't get upset about missing the movie with daddy.
So we head down to the mall and are standing the the too long line and I keep looking at this lady a few people ahead of me.
She has her child in a fleece pouch and is carrying a Petuna Pickle bag. Although we see people slinging their kids, this was the first pouch I have seen at the mall and only the second person I have ever seen carrying a PB bag (the first at the LLL conference).
Anyway, we are waitng in line and both ds's and being a bit hands on with each other and middle ds moves back stepping on my bare toes hurting me. I say "ouch now stop that" and this lady turns around looks at me finally and asks if I make happy heiny's.
I about died. Not only is she a sling making mama but she also uses Cloth diapers. We talked about how ironic it was her recognizing me in the line and chatted a bit about cloth until it was her turn to buy tickets, then off into the theater she went.
It was so neat to meet someone IRL, not a planned meeting, but just a chance meeting while waiting in line at a theater. This was my first non-diaper/wahm board meeting of a person who uses cloth diapers.
OK, just wanted to share my little excitement for the day

Really, it was just neat to meet someone else who uses cloth in what I would consider an unusual place

She recognized me because of the family picture. Our family actually looks just like the picture even when we are just hanging around, so if you've seen the picture you would most likely recognize us when we are all together

I've met CD mama's at parkway about three different times.. odd since it's not the "crunchiest" place on earth

Parkway, one of the uncrunchiest places around

We were at sears after the movie, in the men's section. I was looking through some shorts for dh and I am listening to these 2 ladies and 1 man working behind the counter. The younger of the ladies, young girl to be more exact is going on and on about yesterday a woman was walking around the mens section just breastfeeding. She was just holding her baby like this (football) and just walking around, other slightly older lady says you mean she had no blanket, younger lady say no her boob was just hanging out for all to see, both agree lady should not be doing that in public. All the while they see me staring at them in complete disbelief.
Dh tells me to behave but I couldn't resist going up to them and letting them know that their job was in customer service and they need to realize that just as they are allowed to eat in public so is a breastfeeding infant and they need to be a bit more careful with their conversations while they are working and representing another company.
I plan on going in tomorrow and talking with a manager about it.

SOO cool! I met a woman at Malden Mills factory store last year who recognized me from my website. Well, she didn't recognize me on the spot, I had to tell the cashier my biz name to get the discounted prices and Erica said, 'hey, you're Rebecca!'

I didn't know if I should be excited or feel stalked! :LOL
