Wood knitting needles splintering???

1345 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  laurabfig
My wood knitting needles splintered on the ends so that they aren't sharp anymore...it is near impossible to knit with them now. Anybody else have this happen? Is this normal? I am not sure what kind they are b/c I got them from another mama here in a trade, but I *think* they are from LTK...they have the cute clay balls on the ends. Anyway, I barely got done practicing a few swatches (I am just learning) and then the very tip just splintered off leaving a not-so-sharp nubby end on the needle...can I fix this?

Pencil sharpener, fine grain sandpaper and wax paper to rub over it once you've sanded it smooth

Thank you...sounds like that will do the trick!
