Ok, so I want a soaker. But I've been disappointed a few times when I got some of lesser known WAHM moms. I want a GOOD soaker. I want one that when I lift it up I CAN'T look through because of loose knitting. I want one that fits when I give measurements and doesn't hang like a sack potatoes And I want it to be soft, too

I have 2 Mosaic moon soakers I got a good deal on, but she's outgrown the rise

And mosaic moon is hard to get AND very expensive. So under 50 $ would be good.

I also love the curly purly waist I've seen on hyena

Tell me what to buy, spam me with links, too!

(oh, shorts are good,too )

edit: she's a size medium, 17 rise,16 waist,18 hips,10 legs

Have you tried Hyena Cart? There are loads of soakers for sale there and lots of knitters who will make customs soakers for you.

I look at hyenacart all the time, but who are the GOOD knitters. I don't want to waist more dollars on items that are not what promised.

Are you set on knitted ones, because there is a lot of great interlock wool out there too

I love Baby Woolies and Lotus Knits (stocks on Hyena Cart).

I really have to recommend Baby Woolies the most, though, because I've ordered twice from her and the turn around both times was lightening fast, the customer service excellent, and the capris and longies were both knitted to perfection and oh so cute!

I have a BabyWoolies set and C is still wearing (got it around his 1st bday and he's 2.5). You can see it on the BabyWoolies gallery page (he's the last picture on the first row... the blue sweater and pants set). Very nice work.

I knit my own and they are pretty tight (maybe I'm just taking out my frustration on the needles LOL).

I'm sorry you haven't had good luck. We've been lucky, I guess. But I do use certain ones for night/naps and they are tighter...and in our case its often the mass-produced bumpy wool or 'crat (love them both). And we don't do wool under clothes, but instead do wool as clothes--so we don't get the same kind of compression/wicking issues that you will if wearing them under clothes.

I'm a fan of recycled longies (I've made a few pairs) and also wool-fabric pants (again, made a few and bought a couple).

Good luck.

I haven't looked in HC in a long time since DS has pl'd but some of my favorite knitters are Kellie of Whimsical Fairies who stocks at Eclectic Earth, Tanya of Coffee Break Knits also at EE, Stephanie of Sugar and Spice knits who knits for FLuffymail and she has a semi custom available https://www.fluffymail.com/ccp51/cgi...rs:knittedwool

Elizabeth of Knit In Your Pants who stocks at Midday Faire and Kimberly of BeemerKnits but I don't think she is knitting anymore, just dyeing wool

I LOVE woollybottoms. I like the idea that the wool is recycled and I have had customs made for this coming babe and for my toddler. Her customer service is also amazing. And you cannot beat the prices.

I've had good luck with New Life Woolens and have wanted to try Pinstripes and Polkadots b/c it looks like they have a good selection of sweaters to choose from. I find you just have to check sites frequently to find cute recycled things and custom slots.

The pinstripes and polkadots are super cute, I think I know what new fluffy mail I am getting now.

I have a pair of recyled ones from pin stripes and polka dots and they work great. I have also just recently tried some recycled stuff off of Ebay from Grateful Buns and her longies are awesome! She carries a lot of plain black ones too so you don't always have to get something with an ugly sweater design....she had the cutest pair a couple weeks ago that actually had buttons up the front of them...they were black with a pale pink trim around the buttoned area....they were adorable! But I have a boy so I couldn't buy them. I bought some knitted soakers from her too and liked them all so well that I have her making me 5 custom soakers now....plus, I purchased 2 recycled soakers and 3 recycled longies from her too. I'm super pleased with her work.

I have 2 pair of knitted longies from belladonnadesigns and her work is awesome! She's on hyena cart but not sure if she's doing any custom work right now or not....you can always email her and see. She actually knitted my favorite pair of longies...they are so soft they feel like cotton! Super thick too so I never get leaks. And if I remember right, I paid less than $40 for them too....they fit my son great with extra room in the booty for the CD.

i would tell whatever mom that you are looking for nighttime dense kind of wool
a lot depends ont he stitch and the wool

i prefer using peace fleece (amazing and thick and holds shape nicely) almost all the time for my customers unless I KNOW they want something different. I like the opaque look myself .....

i would say check feedback too. soem of us are less well known, but have excellent feedback and happy customers. I love mosaic moon, but someone has to serve the more budget conscious folks too ....

I am sorry that you have been unhappy but i would definitely address it with the WAHM. Personally i would remake the pants with a different stitch or technique or yarn....

the feedback was good, so there you are.

She said no returns on customs, I can sell my soaker on ebay. ( I'd never ask for a custom to be returned, but her website said she takes returns and didn't exlude customs)
