Wool mamas.. what do you wash and lanolize with? Is eucalan enough to do both?

Hey mamas.. I was wondering if using eucalan wool wash was enough to prewash my wool jersey fabric with before sewing covers/wio's.. or if it wouldn't be enough for waterproofing it.

What do most wahms do and what do most mamas do?

I'm trying to decide if just eucalan will work.. or if it would be better to use a liquid lanolin instead or in addition to when prewashing.

Thanks in advance!!!

As a consumer, I like it when wool comes freshly lanolized.
But, I guess it depends on the wool itself. Some wool is best left alone, right? Like organic wool?

rumor has it that danica, of the soap deck, is working on some cool little lanolin pearls that will make it really easy to re-lanolize. i don't think she's actually offering them yet, but if you need to reorder diaper buddies, you just might get her to let you test :)
All I use is a wool wash. I found that lanolizing with lanoline was too much and my covers all started leaking. But just using eucalan or a wool soap seems perfect.

HTH.

So would you mamas consider Eucalan lanolizing since it has lanolin in it or not? Anyone know where to buy liquid lanolin?
Thanks!

I've seen liquid lanolin in the natural foods store in the health and beauty section.

OK, I just re-lanolized my kiwi pie wool for the first time, & I think I might have over-lanolized- they feel a bit "coated"... but why would it cause them to leak? Would it be because the fibers are too saturated with the lanolin so the cover can't absorb liquid and it leaks out that way?
