I think the easiest investment is to get yourself some baby shampoo to wash it in. Then, do you have any lanolin? Think breastfeeding Lanisoh type stuff. Those are what you'll need. Someone people use wool wash to increase the time between re-lanolizing.

Do you know if your cover has recently been lanolized?

Good info on wool care is a sticky up at the top of Diapering. It's under Diapering Resources, I believe.

I love to wash my wool in Eucalan. Lots of places online carry it (I know Fuzbaby does off hand) and if you have a yarn shop in your town they usually have it too. All you really need is Eucalan and lanolin (I like to use Lansinoh)... oh and a sink to wash it in.

Lanolin is like a cream... it's a "body oil" that comes from sheep. You can find Lansinoh at any store that sells stuff like nursing pads and breast pumps. You can also find cheaper lanolin at most health food stores or ask in your pharmacy. The Lansinoh is a little pricey (like $9 for a tube iirc) but it lasts a long time. You can use regular baby shampoo, but you will need to lanolize more often than you would w/ Eucalan. Eucalan has lanolin already in it.

YW
The boys are watching Blue's Clues so I am feeding my MDC addiction! :LOL

It will depend how often you will need to lanolize. If you notice the soaker is not working well, you will need to add lanolin. It is sort of a trial and error thing ime. The baby shampoo will have a tendency to wash away the lanolin so you may need to lanolize weekly or more often. Some ppl make their own wool wash w/ baby shampoo and lanolin. Check the FAQ at the top of the board and see if there is a "recipe" for it.

And, I'm assuming I use just a TINY bit of baby shampoo?
I like to alternate between a couple. Let one air out while the other is being worn.

No, you don't need too much of the shampoo either

HTH~
