Eucalan is good for washing wool and it has some lanolin in it, but you should still do a full lanolization with pure lanolin.

but I'm lazy, so unless it's a nighttime cover I use monkeysudz EeZee spray lanolin. It's very easy! I know, I should do a full lanolization with lanisoh or something, but...
: I really like the scents of monkeysudz. and It's very easy!

Ok..

Now..How do you do a full lanolize???
Unless it's for overnight or you have a heavy wetter, just using Eucalan should be enough for a short period of time until you get some lanolin. But long-term, Eucalan won't be enough because it doesn't have a large amt of lanolin. It's only enough to use for washings to replace what leaches out between lanolizings when you wash your wool.

the way i do it....
when i do it

is like this:
After washing my wool, I squirt about a dime-sized amount of Lanisoh or some other pure lanolin into approximately 1 cup of water and nuke it in the microwave or heat it on the stove. Swirl it around to dissolve it uniformly in the cup, then pour it into a big bowl of lukewarm water. I dunk my wool in it so it's totally submerged, then leave it alone for about 10 minutes. I remove it from the bowl, and roll it up in a clean dry towel (like you would after washing) to get rid of the extra moisture. Voila! Fully Lanolized!

:
This is also how I lanolize except that I use slightly more lanolin and I let the covers soak for about 1 hour.

...can the lanolin hurt one's pipes? When I have lanolized in my bathroom sink, it just seems so "thick" that I wonder if the coating would be bad for the pipes.

Anyone know?
