Had my 2nd MW appointment today at 12.5 weeks and we were able to hear the heartbeat! Since we haven't had an ultrasound, It's great to have some proof that there's actually a baby in there!

It's TOTALLY a relief. I had talked myself into not expecting to hear it and didn't have my hopes up. With DS we couldn't hear the heartbeat at 12 weeks and I was sent for an US to find it visually. Talk about stress waiting. SO glad to not have to go through that again.

When I went back for my next appointment at 16 weeks we were able to hear the heartbeat with no trouble.
I didn't have a doppler at home, so didn't try in-between week 12 and week 16. Not sure how early we could have heard it, just didn't have the chance til week 16.

Thank you!!

Also, the stuff I have read says the heartbeat sounds like a "galloping horse" and the wooshing sounds are your "uterine sounds".

What does the hb really sound like?

It was like fast thumps, with wooshas in the background. If that makes sense?
At first when she was trying to locate it I heard lots of sounds which I thought could be the heartbeat, but once she found the baby the heartbeat was very obvious.
