how do you decide? does it matter? Currently I am using blogspot but I am considering switching to word press as it seems more professional and neat looking. what are you thoughts?

I am on blogger because it is easy for me. If you know html (or someone who does) you can make it look however you want -- so professional and neat looking would not be a concern. Then, it is a matter of preference. Blogger is wildly popular though and also it is a google thing I think, which helps with your blog coming up in google or yahoo searches (or maybe that is a bunch of hooey) but that is what I have heard

Blogger and Wordpress are both popular with Google. However, Blogger reserves the right to take down your blog if they want to, so just be aware of this. Often, a self-hosted wordpress blog is safer bet.
