Spotting and mild cramping ... don't know if I overdid it / am dehydrated and that's all it is or if something's wrong. It also felt like my uterus was doing gymnastics several times today. My first prenatal appointment is in the morning, so I guess I'll find out more then unless something happens tonight. I'm trying to lay down and drink water, but still have kids to put to bed.

I'm thinking of you! I know how you feel. Your instincts are right, of course: drink fluids and rest as much as you can. I'm glad you'll have an appointment in the morning.

I hope you get some rest and have a great appointment tomorrow. FWIW, I had *horrible* cramping before my 2nd u/s - so bad it made my abs hurt the next day - and spotting. And the baby was still there, going strong.

Thanks everyone. I'm off to my appointment now, but won't be back online until sometime tonight - my appointment is an hour away (near the beach!), so we're going to the beach for a picnic lunch and some fun after my appointment (if all goes well)...and then we're on to our CSA, bringing 3 kids to soccer camp, picking kids up from soccer camp and meeting my dad for dinner....then 4 oldest are going with my dad for a sleepover and I'm taking my 2 year old home to SLEEP!!!

We didn't hear a heartbeat. However, my uterus seems to be larger than a 10 week uterus ... so I'm going to have an u/s at 2pm tomorrow (a couple hours after dh's vasectomy! ) to see what's going on. Either I'm farther along than we thought (though my midwife is doubtful since we didn't hear a hb, I'm just big for dates, or it's twins..... or there's something else going on that we'll only find out then. Tomorrow's going to be a loooong day!

It has been taking me a loooooong time and a lot of patience to find a heartbeat with the doppler at home. And even then I haven't been able to find it every time. But they found it right away with the ultrasound today. Good luck to you tomorrow!

DDCC

to you, Mama!

This happened to me when I was 10w2d. Went to the doctor, she used the doppler and we couldn't hear a thing. She tried again after a while and we still couldn't hear anything. 10 weeks is still really early to find the heartbeat. She sent me for an ultrasound at 11 weeks and the tech put the wand on me and got this really funny look on her face. I was so worried. Then she says, "well no wonder she couldn't find the heartbeat, this baby is up at your belly button already." Sure enough, there he was measuring 11w2d with a super strong HB.

I will be thinking of you. I am sure everything is ok.

It's frustrating not to know, but I hope you can find some peaceful moments in the waiting. I'll keep you in my thoughts.
