Would a drill press help me be frugal?

Oh, this may seem odd! BUT, my grandfather-in-law has a drill press that he wants to get rid of. He is planning on giving it to my father-in-law, who doesn't want it. I'm hoping to convince my husband that we should take it.

What sort of projects does one use a drill press for? I would like to eventually have a workshop, once I have the time and space.

Um, what IS a drill press?
A drill press is a drill thats mounted to an arm and goes up and down and is bolted to the table...

To the OP, IF you have space to store it, and IF you honestly will use it, then I'd get it
It'll just be one nice piece of hardware you don't have to get later on....

Will it actually help you be frugal? Well that all depends on how crafty you get in your workshop, but you WILL save a bit of $ by not buying one.

I would take it.

Much nicer to get a hole right where you want instead of trying to hold a handheld drill steady.
How much room do you have? If you're not permanently settled, how many times are you going to have to move it?

I think it'd be fun to have a drill press, but a handheld drill is more versatile and compact, though much less fun.
