Would anyone like to share a skyscraper ad with me???

I would like to get a skyscraper ad, it can be divided up between several WAHM's, it's awesome advertising because it's on EVERY page of the MDC site and it's on the side so I think it's more obvious. It's $400 for one month in total, so if a few of us share it it would be great!!!

I mentioned in the other thread I'd be interested. There would have to be at least four of us for me to be able to afford it, though, and more would be better.

Yep I couldn't do it with less then 4 either, I'd like 6 or 8 ideally! Hopefully there are a few others out there

I would like to do it ASAP but obviously it will depend on when we can find a few others!

OK, we've got 3 now, I just realized that 6 or 8 might be a lot lol, our ads would be teeny weeny! But if we can get one more then that'll be 4 which would probably work nicely!!!

I think you make four, which would put it at $100 each for one month, so how soon are we gonna do this? the size for the whole ad is "120x600 pixels, file size of 25K max in gif, jpg, or animated .gif format" which gives us each a size of 120x150

Hmmm, I don't have an ad that size yet, and am not sure when I can get one made. Are these ads by calendar month, or just 30 days from date of purchase? Since today is June 1, I'd hate to lose out on some days waiting for the ads. I'll try to get one made up right away.

Oh, do you want to try to coordinate the ads in terms of file format? Like, do you all want to have them as .gif, .jpg, or animated? Let me know so that I can match them right away.

Actually our 4th member has done it before, and she said what you do is each put in a full size ad, and then it rotates, but it's only rotating between 4 ads so they still get TONS of exposure plus they're way more visible since they're full-size

Does that sound ok???

I also thought we just each did a little button lol! So I guess this way we could take another mom or two if you guys want to, and then there would be 5 or 6 banners rotating but it'd be cheaper...I'm good however we do it as long as we have at least four lol! 5 or 6 would still not be too bad when you consider how many pages each person probably sees on one visit to the site...

Oh and it's 30 days from the date or purchase, I have to get the right size banner made too. I'm thinking we should all do static jpg, only because the max file size is 25 kb which is not a ton of room...what do you guys think?

Wow, that is a large size... I'm not sure what I would even put on it! So, before I embark on this creative endeavor, I'd love to know if I'm definately 'in' or not. Let me know; it is ok with me either way. If you have room for me too, then I'll need some time to get this ad designed. So, is it 25kb for each of our files, or all together? I can't imagine how to make a file of those large diminsions that small... I'm obviously not very graphically savvy!

I'm going to e-mail Cynthia and ask about the filesize, 25 KB is small for one ad that size, let alone 4 lol! It does say 25 KB max though...although it says a hosting fee may apply depending on file size, so maybe a larger size would be OK, just a fee would apply. I wonder if they would let me host it on my server instead of theirs??? I have excellent uptime and then we could have any size we wanted!!! I'm going to e-mail right now

Alrighty, it is 25 KB for each banner, yay!!! Can you all let me know when you have a banner ready? I will be away from now until Monday, so maybe we can get them running next week!

I'm fine with getting more wahms in on it so as to be less expensive, I know you can host your own banner, but it then won't show up for anyone using ad blocker software, whereas if it's hosted on Mothering, I think it will show up as content? something like that. Anyway, off to have a banner done....

Yeah Cynthia said that if for some reason my server has trouble, it will just skip our banner. So it's better to host it here I think. But 25 KB each should be enough I think!

So I made a hoaky banner, and sent it to my web designer cousin (who designed my original website and business cards) to help me put on the border... I know, I'm that bad! And she turned it into a great banner! Yeah! So I'm ready to go whenever you all are. Just let me know when and where to send the banner and payment.
