DH and I are talking about getting the saws, tools and sanding equipment to make wooden items. My dad did many of these as a hobby when I was growing up and sold some, and had the internet been like it is now, we'd be rich But I'm not sure if there is still a need/want....

We have bought birdhouses at farmer's markets. Also, currently I am looking for an end-grain hardwood cutting board or topped kitchen island. In the future, I could see buying a child's table and chairs or desk for the kid's computer. HTH

A bird feeder and windchimes. Oh, and I bought a great table and two captain's chairs for DD from someone on Craigslist. I am pretty sure they were homemade.

We just bought a birdhouse this week. And I'd totally be interested in one of those beside-the-door organizers with hooks, spots for wallets, etc, all the things that get lost when you set them on the counter.

I've been wanting to get a dollhouse shaped bookcase (I've seen a cheaper version at the store) for my DD since before she was born. My dad used to handmake beautiful things, but he's getting older and keeps forgetting that I ask him (probably because he doesnt understand the ideas in my head). Also, my dad made DS a gorgeous handmade toybox with his name on the front and a padded scotchguard fabric top that doubles as a sitting area that is really gorgeous. I would have bought one of those for sure if I didnt have him to make it for me.

Remember, you've just got a small sampling here on MDC, so for the results here, there are many many more people who would buy said product.

I am very cheap about decorative items, but I did vote "Other Toy Items" because I might buy a wooden toy box.

I'm sure you have or are going to run the numbers yourself, but just in case... My father makes wooden stuff as a hobby and favors to friends and family and has thought about selling it as kind of supplimental retirement income, but found that the cost of materials and equipment make the investment of time not worth it or drive the price out of most folks' reach. Plus there's shipping. If you sell a good quality wooden toybox online for $200 (my dad says $250 for the one he made me), shipping will be another $50-$100. That's a lot of dough for most people.

I would buy wooden toys.... once I saw some wooden toys (cutlery, plates, dishes, etc.) at the Camphill fair... of course it would depend on the price and how much money I had as well.
