Would you or wouldn't you??

We have only ever used sposies once, when my DD2 was born until her cord fell off (about 10 days). We love cloth.

We are going on vacation this week. We will be driving 1900 miles total over 7 days with a 2.5yo and a 14mo. The 2.5yo is potty trained. We will be staying in 3 different hotels and at my aunt's house for 2 days--the only place with free laundry would be my aunt's. My 14mo is just getting over a yeast diaper rash.

Having said all that, we would be perfectly willing to do cloth on vacation--we've done it every other time.

BUT, after I started thinking about all that, I thought, "We *could* use sposies just for this one trip." I would feel a tad bit guilty about it, but they are for convenience, and it would make the trip convenient--at least as far as washing goes, and toting a stinky diaper pail in our van.

What do you think? Would you? Wouldn't you? TIA!!

i'd either do sposies, or i'd do cloth with those disposable liners, so that you're only really toting around pee dipes. but i'm sensitive to smells, and the prospect of sun baked poo dipes makes me throw up a little.
I tend to compromise on trips - I use sposies but I get the more natural, unbleached ones.
driving that far and having very limited access to a washer, I would use sposies
I used to use cloth on trips, but eventually switched to disposables. I just find it so much easier not to have to lug dirty diapers around and find places to wash them. Besides, if I'm on vacation, I'd like to be spending time enjoying my vacation, rather than doing laundry!

I also find that my kids don't need to be changed as often in a disposable diaper as in a cloth diaper, which is convenient when traveling. It's nice, for example, to be able to drive 2 hours without stopping for a diaper change, when with cloth, I might have to change the same child three or four times in that period.
I would use disposables in that situation and wouldn't feel guilty in the slightest. Disposable diapers make sense in certain situations. Have a fun trip!

We would use diaposables.

we are dedicated to cd - but last year when we flew to Mass (5 place trips in 9 days -- a anut's house, a cabin, and 2 hotels) we used Huggies.

I keep a few huggies in the truck too -- as an emerency back up.

the huggies took up a lot lot lot less room in luggage -- espcailly packing cloth for days inbetween washings......and i could buy more huggies as i needed to to avoid packing them all to carry the whole time.

Also I was going to be stressed enough, travling like that with a 8 month old, and meeting a lot of family i had never met, and dealing with some of DH's family.......i wanted to "make things as easy as i could" we also didn't even try any food (he was eatig once a day every other day or so at that time) and just told people we were EBF. I wanted it to be at least a littlel bit of vaction.....and hauling diapers, esp dity ones, and looking for a place to wash and so on -- less of a vacation.

JMO

but these are the situations for which dispoables were created ....... (as oppsed to being used all the time, which i feel is nOT what they were created for)
