would you try cutting out dairy??

DS is 9 months. From birth to about 6 months I couldn't eat ANY dairy at all. He would get miserable and gassy from it. When he was just over 6 months we were at my moms and she ordered pizza. She forgot to order some without cheese so I thought what the heck and ate it, just to see if he still reacted to the dairy. He didn't. We had a great night (no gas, screaming etc).

Shortly after that we started solids and that's when the constipation started. We've started and stopped solids a few times trying to correct the problem with no avail. For the past couple of weeks he's been on none or little solids. For the past couple of days he feeds himself whatever he wants to eat in little strips (strips of cucumber, strips of cantelope, strips of peaches, etc).

I am SO sleep deprived it's not even funny. He wakes up screaming at night. Can't even "shh shh shh" him back to sleep. He needs OUT of his crib and I have to either nurse him or rub his lower back. He wakes up every 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours.

He had been sleeping in his crib but it was getting way too hard for me to keep getting up and going to his room so past 4 days he's been in bed with us from 9 pm till he wakes up. Even when he's co-sleeping he is getting up ever hour - 1 1/2. I think the longest stretch I have had in the past few months was 3 hours and that was ONE time.

Anyways I'm wondering if you all think I should try cutting the dairy?

YES!

I mean, really, what do you have to lose by trying it? It's a good start, if things don't improve after that you can try to eliminate some of his foods to see what is bothering him.

I see you mentioned cucumbers... I would try eliminating those. Just a hunch but I believe they are pretty 'gas producing'.
