I have found that it is not so much whether it is a knit or woven, but whether it is 100% cotton or not. Laminated cotton fabrics haven't been as waterproof for me. The plain knit PULs are usually 100% polyester.
woven PUL vs. knit PUL

I just ordered some PUL prints that are woven. I am not really worried about the stretch--I can always cut the covers on the bias--I'm just curious about how they hold the waterproofness? I've so far only bought Jess's PUL knits, and was getting impatient for prints (sorry Jess) (I just don't do plain covers). I figure, I use plain fabric for diapers and I use prefolds a lot; so we use print covers almost exclusively.
Any feedback about this?
