i was reading that thread and i guess everyone says pre-folds are the way to go with a newborn if you don't want to spend a fortune on dipes they'll only wear a few times. what's the best fitting wrap for newborn pf's? we had MAJOR problems with our dd pooping out of her diaper every time she pooed -and she was exclusively bf for almost a year, so that was a lot of poo!! :LOL anyway, i want a good wrap that will contain the poo!!

i assume cpf are the way to go? (they seem to be the most popular)...although i guess i still don't know the diff between cpf and regular pf!

one more thing, are all snappi's made equal? are all cpf's made equal?

We only have 1 NB cover (loveybums) for our fitteds and have used it everyday. Baby is nearly 2 weeks old now. Washed it once and it dried in an afternoon and have spot cleaned the leg once. Otherwise it hasn't been soiled and contains everything. This thing is so stretchy and lovely...really worth every penny IMO.
even DH loves it and asks if we have any 'real nappies' and 'the cover.'

Wish I had two covers but just got into fitteds/wool after buying loads of AIO/pockets (which are actually really leaky for us
)

sorry..edited to add...just re-read and you asked about prefolds
....I'm not sure about them...we haven't used them....sorry I just saw 'nb covers' and thought I'd add my LB rave since we love this cover so much

I used green earth covers and they worked great! I think they are comparable to maybe proraps???

As far as prefolds: CPF and regular prefolds.....well they are basically the same.

There are four sizes of prefolds: preemie, infant, regular, and premium.

There are a few materials used. Ones that I know of: Chinese cotton, indian cotton(very soft) , flannel, sherpa.....I am sure there are others

Green Earth covers are very similar to proraps and they have the umbilical notch - that's what I used for the first few weeks. They have leg gussets to keep everything contained, which is a definite plus!

the difference between cpf and pf - genuine cpf are made in China - that's it :0) I have some indian prefolds that I am in love with - they are SO soft!!!

And yes, all snappis are made equal - just different colors.

Yes, I LOVE these for the newborn phase, too. The gussets in the legs really keep all the BF poo in.
And that scoop is perfect, too. They really do fit a NB!
