I have never watched a video, but I read a very detailed description once in Fleiss' book about how a circumcision is performed. It made me sick to my stomach (the first time in my life I actually thought I might throw up due to reading or seeing something) and I started crying. Is there something like that on the internet somewhere? I figured it might be easier to get someone to read something if I can't get them to watch it (or if they don't have the internet). I've watched the video and read the dialogue on google, but that's not what I'm looking for. I want a step by step of what they do, in graphic terms. Thanks!

This is the standard template one of the doctors at the hospital I work for uses for circumcision notes:

The infant was given TYLENOL and SUCROSE per nursery protocol. The infant was taken to the circumcision board, prepped and draped in the usual sterile fashion. LIDOCAINE 1% without EPINEPHRINE was used to place bilateral dorsal penile nerve blocks, 0.8 mL used. Foreskin was grasped, mobilized, and adhesions were removed. Foreskin was bisected in the midline along the dorsal aspect. Gomco clamp was placed. Foreskin was drawn through the Gomco opening, clamped and crushed. Foreskin was removed using a #10 blade. Gomco 1.3 was used without complication. Wound was visualized and blood loss was less than 1 mL. The infant tolerated the procedure well. There were no complications. The infant returned to his parents.

:puke I don't type them, if I pull up a circ note I send it back into the pool.

Here's a great article from Men's Health with description, pictures, and discussion. Men's Health is a very mainstream magazine, so I think this is a good resource for those who might be turned off by more crunchy sites.

http://www.noharmm.org/separated.htm

There are a few on a circ support board that I can't stomach. Its a pro-circ writer, so I guess if you feel it is necessary....

Email me (don't use mdc mail, I think its full- send to my email if you can) if you want the link - or post here-- but again, it goes to a pro-circ board so much of the rest of the info is full of myths and lies.
