I was sitting at the bookstore today with the little one. We had just finished nursing and I was sitting her up and getting ready to move on. Some guy ran up to us out of nowhere clutching a crumpled piece of paper and a pen. He got WAY too close and my "red alert: psycho within 2 feet" alarms were starting to sound. He says, "can you do me a favor?" I replied "no" without even considering it, because I'm a hardass like that. He said "please? I'm doing a scavenger hunt, and I need you to sign on the line!"

I tried to read the paper but it was crumpled and his hand was moving so I couldn't see much. It had a bunch of legalese on it, including the standard "I, the undersigned agree to the terms and conditions" bla bla bla. I couldn't make out much other than that--clearly by signing it I would be agreeing to some terms and conditions. Obviously I did NOT sign it. I said "no" again and the guy got really mad. "PLEASE! WHY NOT??? Asshole!"

And then he ran off. :

It seemed like either some kind of prank or scam or maybe even something more bizarre than my innocent little imagination can conceive of. : Anyone heard of something like this???
