It seems like there are quite a number of us doing the WW program. Are any of you interested in a WW support thread?

I check this board often to see if anyone is talking about WW.
I have been doing WW for about 13 months and absolutely adore the Core Plan. I work as a receptionist at my local WW and love every minute of it.

Cool GuavaLava! I saw on the other thread you've lost 67lbs... that's amazing!!! I'm just beginning this journey. I've ignored my weight issue for the past several years, so I'm excited to be addressing it & heading into a healthier life. I'm on week 4 or 5 and am about 8 pounds under my prepreg weight (about 10 pounds lost since I started ww). I'm doing the flex plan, but you've got me thinking I should try Core since I eat mostly Core type foods anyway. Maybe next week I'll give it a try.

Thanks!

I think people should at least try the Core Plan. I know it's not for everyone, but if you can look at the Core food list and get excited, it's worth a shot. I saw olives and avocados on the list and knew this Plan was for me. :LOL

I've been on WW (flex plan) for about 5 months now, and am down 30 lbs. It's a program that works really weel for me! I find that I have to keep close track of my points by writing them down AND I have to go to meetings to really make it work for me. The accountability is a big motivator for me.

I am starting week 9 of WW. I have lost 22 pounds on the flex plan.

67 pounds
That is awesome!

I would love a WW support thread as right now I am struggling with the idea of activity points

I joined WW awhile ago but stopped because of the 40 bucks a month thing; I just didn't think that I had that kind of extra cash. Anyway I am totally fried about my weight right now I feel so helpless and stuck!!! I hate where I am right now!
I joined WW on line and it really isn't working for me! I hardly ever sign in although I do like the idea of having everything on line I think a big part of it for me too is the accountability and I need the meetings as a reminder and inspiration. Although I haven't had much success with WW there is something about the program that interests me. Some how I like it? I also know a lot of people that it has really worked for. I think I have a hard time with the points sometimes because I cook a lot and sometimes it is just a trip to try and figure out the point's way too much math! I also cook a lot of Indian vegetarian food and it's hard to figure out the whole point's thing there too. I have been thinking about switching to the core plan I also heard that vegetarians seem to do better on that plan. I also just heard about this book eat to live on this site and was wondering if I could do that with the WW core plan? Hummmm? Anyway I am on the waiting list for that at the library. Anyway I would totally love to have a WW thread here.

Kaydee & JoyfulMamma CONGRATULATIONS!!! You're both doing amazing!!!! You must be so proud
JM - I pretty much ignore activity points, LOL. I walk a few times/week w/a friend and want to start doing an exercise DVD a couple more times a week (need to find one I like). Rasa - I'm sorry you're struggling. I KNOW how hard it is. I'm not attending meetings (both because of the cost and I would have to bring both kids w/me & that's no fun, LOL). I've found a couple of things helpful:
1. I have a piece of plexi-glass (plastic) on the side of my fridge. It's really big (the width of the fridge & about 2feet tall). It's held on w/strong magnets. I use a dry-erase marker & that's how I keep track of my points. I have it sectioned into 7 sections & labeled for each day. I have 1 section for the weekly flex points. I write everything down. Everything. And I don't feel guilty about using my WFpoints.
2. If I'm making something for the family (cooking dinner), I'll just estimate as best I can. I definatly measure & weigh a lot, but if it's not possible (for instance, we have a lot of casseroles in the freezer from before the baby was born), I just try to guess & usually over-estimate a little just in case.
3. I've been buying products that set me up for success. No ice cream, but low-fat or no-fat frozen yogurt for a treat. Lots of veggis for a salad/veggis every day. Low fat meyo. Honey-mustard dressing for 'dip' (1.5 points for 1 T, which is perfect for dipping veggis in).
4. I have a friend IRL who is my support person. We're trying to do things together as much as possible.
5. I'm treating myself to special things as I hit milestones. My first goal was to get under 200 pounds by my annual gyn exam in July. I weighed in at 199 today
SO, I called the spa today & am going in for a pedicure next week. I'd been telling msyelf when I hit under 200 I'd get a pedicure & I"M DOING IT. I don't care that it cost $45. I deserve it. My next goal is fit into a size 16 dress for a special event in the end of July (I'm an 18 now). Little by little.

I do get down when it seems like it's not working, but I try to keep my chin up. Last week I only lost 1 pound all week & I was really surprised. Then today I got on the scale & was down another 3-4 in a couple of days. I'm just trying to stay positive.

Any suggestions for a good (short, like 20min) exercise DVD? I need to tone my abs & arms big time!

I think the Core Plan would be great for you. I love to cook too. As long as the ingredients are Core in a recipe I can add a dash of that and a dollop of this without measuring every little thing. It's great! This board on the WW website is mainly Core people. weekly Points Allowance tip exchange There are quite a few vegetarians there too.

Do you have netflix? You can get exercise dvds from there and check them out to see if they are worth buying. I always loved Richard Simmons.

I joined a gym recently. My dd is almost 3 and adores playing with other children. They have childcare in the building and it's only $2 for 2 hours of care if you buy in advance. My time there is as fun for me as it is for her. She's always asking about going to the gym. She'll ask if I am going to eh-her-hize. While she's asking she does a couple little bicep curls to get her point across.

I love doing classes. Yoga, pilates, step, strength endurance, aerobics. All of it!

We don't have netflix, but we DO have the Blockbuster program... so I'm going to put some in our cue. Great idea, thanks so much!
GL - you're giving me more and more courage to try core, LOL. maybe....
I'm on week eleven, myself. I need the accountability of meetings. The meetings are kind of dorky and I have a hard time not being a big cynic about things like the stickers/magnets etc...but then, I'm just a sarcastic kind of gal. However, if I wasn't going to the meeting and standing on the scale, I know I would have given up by now.

I'm doing flex, because I discovered that I eat enormous portions..but of things that are generally pretty good for me. Flex helps me monitor my portions.

So far, I'm down 24 pounds and have hit my first 10% loss! I'm only 5 pounds away from my under 200 mark!

I'm glad there are some other MDC mamas working on this too!
: .... I confess... I just ate an entire pint of B&J's low fat frozen yogurt. I have most of my WFP's left... but I still feel sick. Ugh. Damn PMS (oh, yes, I got my period at ONLY 9 weeks post partum, while nursing 2 kids, while having PCOS).

I'm on week four and I'm not doing so well. DH joined with me and we were doing the flex plan until this week when we decided to switch to core since it is more whole foods based. Problem is, we had to work the kitchen for church bible school this week and I think I ran out of flex points the second day, but I still needed to eat--argh! Then yesterday AF returned for the first time since DS and all I want is a big bag of chips and some B&J New York Super Fudge Chunk
I'm hoping this week will be better and I will be able to get back on the program without all the food distractions.

Treemom2 - try not to get down on yourself. It's not about today, this week, this month, but about an entire life of better health. It doesn't matter what you weigh today or next week, only next year. If you think globally, it's easier to live with being human and making mistakes. That's GREAT that your dh is doing it with you. I only wish, LOL (although my dh doesn't have a weigh problem, lucky guy). I do wish he'd exercise with me, as he could use that just for good health, but it's a no go.

I'm back on track today after last nights B&J's episode. At least it was low fat & not the full turbo stuff, haha. My clothes are definatly getting looser. I'm loving it & using that as modivation.

Have you been keeping track of your points in writing? I know that those weeks where I try to tally my points in my head rather than on paper, or where I am guessing about the point values rather than looking them up or calculating them from ingredients are my bad weeks. I also found that I actually had to measure my food out with measuring cups, spoons, etc., because I wasn't very good at eyeballing portion sizes (that has improved now). Hope it gets better, or that you find a program that works for you!
*sigh* I need this thread. I pay for WW.... but I am having a horrible time actually logging in and sticking to it. I NEED the accountability of meetings, but its just not finanically feasible right now. But I KNOW that I need to do this as my circulation has been really funky lately and I am sure that its because of my weight. *sigh* so frustrated. I could use some more sleep too, LOL. Ok.... gonna hit the sack and hope I can start off good tomorrow. I am tired of feeling like crap
