... In an immunocompromised baby? I have a friend from high school whose baby was diagnosed with cancer (neuroblastoma) when he was only 3 weeks old. He is now 3-4 months old and has been receiving chemotherapy and getting all kinds of antibiotics to deal with infections picked up in the hospital. They are now dealing with thrush as a result. I am so proud of this mama for sticking with breastfeeding and pumping through weeks and weeks of her baby being in a coma, and through all sorts of hardships. I'd like to offer her some tips for dealing with thrush, but I'm not sure if traditional natural remedies are okay in this situation. A truly breastfeeding supportive (and knowledgable) pedi is hard to find around here, so I'm sure she's not getting support from the medical community which is probably why she is asking for help via her blog. If anyone could point me in the direction of helpful resources, I'd appreciate it.

Thank you for suggesting contacting Dr. Newman. Someone else on the Birth Professionals board suggested Dr. Newman too. I will get his contact information to this mama.
