Enamel Saver contains xylitol, a special plaque fighting ingredient that keeps young mouths sparkling clean. Xylitol is found naturally in tree bark, lettuce, plums, and certain berries.
This may be true, but what they're not telling you is that most xylitol used today is highly processed nasty stuff that's made out of a plywood manufacturing waste product. (reference for that little tidbit of info is: The New Whole Foods Encyclopedia: A Comprehensive Resource for Healthy Eating

Our holistic dentist recommends that children chew xylitol gum, I have an appointment w/him on Wednesday, I'll have to find out what the ingredients are exactly. I've been considering it for my kids, I didn't know there was a toothpaste.

I just ordered xylitol gum from www.xylitolstore.com My hygienist suggested that chewing gum might help to keep my teeth cleaner during the day when I can't brush my teeth, especially after my occasional espresso.
I decided not to bother with the toothpaste.
You can get a lot of info on xylitol by doing a google search. Add a few more words like safety or health effects.

I was wondering if anyone is using xylitol as an artificial sweetener, but I should check that out in the good eating forum.

Tom's of Maine has a toothpaste xylitol in it, Natural Anti-Plaque Plus Whitening Gel. I really like how it cleans my teeth, the first toothpaste I have used that when I get up the next morning they still feel clean after having been brushed the night before.

I have done a search on Xylitol and never found any bad info, maybe I better search again

That's a good idea, dabbing the xylitol on the toothbrush. That would work great for my little ones.

I got the gum. It is not as good as a regular sugarfree chewing gum. It loses its flavor fast, like the cheap gum out of a candy machine. It's also kind of hard, not really a pleasure to chew. Maybe another brand would be better.

I'll use up what I've got and then do the dab on the toothbrush for myself too.
