So musiclady having her baby got me thinking about how close I feel to you all...I feel like she, and all the rest of you, are close, even if distant, friends! And I was also thinking about how close we all are to the end of our pregnanies. Pretty soon all of our babies will be here and then eventually this forum will close, right?? I see moms from 08 posting in Life with a Babe and the old DDC's are in archives, so I assume that is what happens.

Any way, I was just thinking that we should start a Yahoo group or something for all of us June mamas! That way, as our baby's grow, we can keep in touch! I enjoy coming to this forum sooo much and I will really miss you all after the baby comes (although I don't know how much time I'll have to be online anymore, ha ha!)

Anyone else interested in a Yahoo group or have another idea for another place we could all keep in touch? (I was thinking a Facebook group but I don't know if everyone has Facebook?)

I think a yahoo group would be nice. It would definitely solve my problem from my last baby. I had no natural minded mama friends to support, so I was trying to make my way in mainstream parenting forums. Finally I found here...

I'm still running my August98 (we weren't MDC, we were PregnancyToday) email server at my house. If you all want an email group that's free, with no ads in the emails, I'd be happy to set it up.
You can get individual emails, daily digests, or read the threads from the web.

I am on yahoo and facebook

Many of my May 2007 mamas are still active in the toddlers section of MDC too, and we have a facebook group.

I love the idea of some way for us to stay in touch. I don't know anything about all the options, but I would like to put in a request to not be on Facebook. I'm trying to keep my life Facebook-free!

I wanted to throw out another option, Lefora. They might be able to migrate our posts from here to our new message board with them. They did that for quite a few MSN boards when they shut down recently. It might be neat to have this history in the same place.

The one thing I love about Lefora is that when you open a post you've already read it takes you to the last post that was up when you last opened the thread. Therefore on long posts you know where you left off.

Would we just be able to start our own tribe on this board or something? I have too many boards as it is, and I don't really like the flow of yahoo group.

I would love to have a way to keep in touch. With two kids I won't be expecting to have a bunch of computer time, but still would be nice to keep the connections for when I do have time. I'm not a fan of Yahoo groups either, like pp said I don't really like the flow/format. I've not heard of some of the others mentioned and am curious. Really, I'll follow wherever the group decides. Seems like here on MDC would be just as easy? I do know for my birth group from my first pregnancy we found a private site nice for talking more in depth and intimately and posting pictures of us and our kids. Just a thought on that
At a certain point it seems weird to have lots of pics of the kids for the world to see (esp because mine tend to be naked a LOT

Yeah, I prefer to be off MDC so I can talk a little more freely. All MDC posts are open to the public via google.
