...and I can't wait!!! My downstairs is a MESS with all the stuff that I have been putting aside for this thing. I need help w/pricing (I saw another post like this but no one responded to my question). My mom has given me a ton of stuff from her house to sell (I get to keep the $) one of the things is an almost new (used once) coach bag. I've looked on ebay and see them going for about $50-75 (she paid almost $300). What do I ask for it? If it doesn't sell at the yard sale I'll try ebay but I figured I'd try that first. I have a few other things but I'm most confused by the bag. TIA!

You could price it for $50 and then lower it down if it doesn't sell.I wouldn't go lower than $40...you could always just post it on ebay too.

My sale is in 2 days too. My husband thinks his stuff is made of gold.

My DH hasn't really contributed anything. All my stuff is either mine, the kids or household. Every once in a while I try to go through his stuff w/him and it's like pulling teeth. He acts like getting rid of clothes 20 years old or too small or that he doesn't wear anymore is to painful to contemplate. MEN!!!!

Honestly, i wouldn't expect your Coach purse to sell for even $40 at a yard sale. On ebay, yes, but yard sale, no. The reason things sell for such a price on ebay is because you have hundredes, THOUSANDS of people searching for a particular item and they are expecting to pay $50-75 or more for it. At a garage sale you may have 75-100 people come to your sale (if you're lucky) and they are out looking for a deal, not a Coach purse exclusively.

Personally, I find it irritating when I go to a garage sale (and I go just about every week) and they have something there priced high with a printout from ebay showing similiar prices. If you want to get the ebay price for it, sell it on ebay!

ETA: yesterday I bought a Vera Bradley purse and wristlet set at a garage sale for $15, and that's a lot of money for me to spend on such an item at a garage sale. I checked ebay when I got home and the purse sells for $50-70 on ebay. The wristlet may go for $20 on ebay, but they don't sell very often. I'm keeping the wristlet and selling the purse on ebay. If I sell it for $50 I'll make back all the money I spent yesterday going garage saling!
