I have another kidney stone. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"> After spending 6 hours in the ER the other day, being ignored by a nurse that is suffering infertility and did nothing to hide her anger at me for having four kids. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"> (No, I'm not assuming. She told me straight up.)<br><br>
I have an appointment tomorrow, and a bottle of Percocet.<br><br>
This sucks.

I am so sorry, I would report that nurse btw. That is not very ´profesional of her! I hope you are feeling better soon.

I'd complain to the hospital. That nurse should not have been put in that position in the first place. Infertility and repeated miscarriages can be really hard to deal with.

She apparently tried to pass me off to someone else, but they forgot about me too. She left the hospital altogether thinking someone was covering for her and they weren't. So eventually hours later she returned.<br><br>
She kept saying things to me like, "So when are you going to stop? Don't you think you have enough kids? You've got 4 and I can't even have one. I've been trying for 10 years and you just pop em out."<br><br>
I felt bad, and then was caught in that awkward position of saying something inadequate or nothing at all. It was horrible. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"> And considering that I went through over 5 years of not being able to get pregnant, and suffered two miscarriages myself.. its not really accurate either. I do know some of what she was feeling like. I know the bitterness and jealousy feeling.<br><br>
But I was in a hospital in pain, seeking treatment. And I felt cornered by a very angry woman.

Nature - I'm so sorry! Kidney stones are supposed to be excruciating. Dealing with such and UNprofessional just adds to it all. I would definately make a complaint to the hospital about your experience. While you empathise to a degree with this nurse, she was completely out of line.
