So....
I had my hubby in line with my idea about being cared for by the midwives at an office just up the street from me. They're associated with a LARGE OB practice, and deliver at a hospital in a bigger town about 1/2 hour away.
Then an early ultrasound at our RE's office revealed twins. These midwives don't deliver twins.
So I kind of resigned to things and called for an appt with the large OB practice that shares their offices. 9 doctors!! I brought hubby along. Let's just say it was as I expected, but hubby was stunned about how OB/Gyn appointments actually went - Dr talked coldly and uninterestedly with his back to us the whole time, while I was sitting in a paper gown, etc. As soon as the doc left HE started talking about finding a new doctor or some midwives at perhaps one of the hospitals in the city.
And I just found out the Midwives at Magee in Pittsburgh will treat patients with twins, and are right there with MFM specialists and high risk doctors.
It's a good bit further away, but hubby works right there, and it's not really too bad to get to. For what it's worth, The Midwife Center would probably also treat me, but they're pretty far off for us.
Now... off to get some records re-routed!
