With one full time co-sleeper, and one part-time co-sleeper taking up space in our bed and leaving DH and I each with about 1.2" of space each on the edges of the bed, we decided it was time to graduate from our crummy little double bed. Our King was delivered last night, around 9:30pm.

Anxious to test it out, we just flopped the mattress on the floor, made up the bed, and climbed in for the night. I was REALLY looking forward to being able to roll away from DS, and having room to actually stretch out without being smooshed into DH. Did that happen? No, of course not. DS was fast asleep when we went to bed. I don't know if he got excited about the mattress being on the floor, or what...but he woke right up and started zipping around the bed, crawling over our heads, squeeling, swan-diving off the edge. He was being totally wacky! He finally settled down and stopped crawling, but layed vertically beside my head, and started kicking it! We couldn't get him to calm down until close to 2am! DH and I ended up sleeping smooshed together on the very edge of his side of the bed, just to escape from The Terror Child. DS slept sprawled vertically over four feet of mattress space.

We were awoken by DS's squeels of excitement, as he jumped on DH's head, at 6:30am!! I was hoping to get him back to sleep, but it was too late. He had woken his sister. So she snuck into the room, asked "Why is the bed short?" and then proceeded to jump around on the mattress screaming "WOOHOOO, WOOHOOOO" while her baby brother continued to attack our heads.

Man, maybe this bed wasn't such a great idea. Wish me luck that tonight is much more peaceful.

congrats on the king. Hopefully everyone will sleep better. Don't forget about a mattress pad!
