Yeast in first trimester

I'm 10.5 weeks pregnant and I've got an yeast infection
.
I didn't want to use any conventional cream searching for natural alternatives. When I had yeast few times before I was pg (but was nursing) I tried douching with chamomile and baking soda, yogurt, tampons with gentian violate, GSE and nothing helped. Each time I ended up using prescription medicine (over the counter creams wouldn't help as well).

Now I'm still nursing AND pregnant in my first trimester which makes me feel awful about taking any conventional drugs
. I did some research and was very exited to find info about Colloidal Silver which supposed to be highly effective against of yeast (sort of immediate help). Well…I was douching with it yesterday and today (1 cup of Silver 2 cups of water) and everything is still burning and itching. Yeast isn't gone and it doesn't look like it's going to go away any time soon with this treatment
. I feel so depressed and miserable. I can't believe that this is just another b*****t that I wasted $130 on but even worse I feel about the fact that in the end I will probably have to use one of the conventional meds again that may possibly harm my developing baby.

I don't know what to do
...

Have you tried using probiotics. You can find some really good ones at your local HFS. Start with half the dosage for the first week, then work your way up to taking it 3x/day. Also, avoid sugars/carbs until it clears up. HTH.
I did try to use Acidophilus, but it wouldn't help. My yeast would get worse if anything. But then I've read that probiotics do not treat yeast by itself, but need to be used after yeast is gone.

I thought to use them once the yeast is gone because with all this Colloidal Silver douching I have probably killed all my friendly bacteria in there.
What good probiotocs would you recommend that are also safe for pg and nursing?

Thanks so much for your help!
My experience is that it is harder to get rid of yeast infections when pregnant...guess it is just due to hormonal changes?
I wish I had a 'secret remedy' that would help, but I don't have any.
I hope you get to feeling better...YIs SUCK!
I kept getting yeast infections when we were TTC, and since I didn't want to use the conventional meds for the same reason, I did a lot of research!
Garlic and tea tree oil were the things that worked for me. I'd peel a clove of garlic and insert it overnight... dh said I had garlic breath by morning! I also drank a lot of plain kefir and made a "suppository" mix of tea tree oil and kefir, I think I did tea tree tampon too

What I've heard is that yeast develops resistance very quickly and needs a variety of things to kill it off. And if you get a leg up on it, take lots of probiotics to keep it away. There's a huge kefir thread somewhere here, and I read there that the kefir strains survive through the digestive tract, which is what you'll need to repopulate your beneficial bacteria...
Also, I can't stress enough the need to keep clear from breads and especially sugars, if I'd eat something sweet the yeast would just get out of control.
Good luck, I know it's really hard!

peeled garlic clove inserted directly into the vagina. leave there for a few hours, then discard. if symptoms still persist 12 hours later, repeat.

itchies suck.

I can't stop eating bread at this stage. I'm very nauseous most of the time and often the only thing that I can eat is white bread with milk.
And I have to eat for 3 because I'm also nursing my 10m.o. and I don't have any milk when I don't eat in time and a dissent amount. My baby refuses taking any liquid from a bottle or a cup (never did) and my milk is basically the only source of liquid for him. He is also not too interested in solids. So I wish I knew how I can eat meat or fish instead of bread, because most of the time I feel nauseas just thinking about it…

I'll definitely stop eating sugars though...

Thanks for the advice!

I remember reading here on MDC about some vaginal garlic tablets (but I'm not sure). Is it better or worse than just peeled garlic?
Do I need to cut it on two pieces (to have its juice come out a bit) or is it enough just to peel it? How deep do I need to insert it and for how many hours? does it burn?
Sorry I have too many questions, I'm just afraid to do something wrong and harm my baby...

don't know about garlic tablets vs. peeled garlic.

don't cut it in half! it can sting!

and when i've done it, i have just pushed it in past the outer most muscles of the vagina. i didn't bother with string, but that sounds like a good idea for those not as familiar with their own vaginas as others.

One other thought that's more supportive of the other ideas suggested than curative in itself, as well as somewhat preventative, is to consider changing underwear partway through the day (ie, going through 2 pair/day) and not wearing any at night. Being pregnant (and thus feeling hot and sweaty all the time) in a hot, somewhat humid environment, this is what helped me.
