Yeast infection - anything I can use?

510 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Galatea
I've had a mild yeast infection for at least a week now and while it's definitely not horrible, it's getting to be annoying. I don't know what I can use for it but there has to be something at least topical. Anyone know what you can use while pregnant?

Here is what I've done. I do this as soon as I feel any symptoms and I haven't had a full blown infection yet this pregnancy.

2 cups of epsom salts + ~1/2 cup of buttermilk powder in to my bath. I will usually also apply honey or yogurt topically while I'm waiting for the bath to fill. Both provide relief from the infection and help balance out the yeast issue.
If you can fill a tampon applicator with yogurt that can also help a lot as well.

I usually use boric acid suppositories for a full blown infection and my midwife told me that is what they have been telling other patients to do as well but like I said the yogurt, honey, epsom, and buttermilk have kept me healthy so far.
Ciga - the only thing I could think of was the yogurt - thanks so much for all of the other info, will try that for sure... thanks again!
It's not the MDC route but you can use any 3-7 day OTC (monistat ect.) treatment. Not the one day though. I've had two during this pregnancy and find the 3-day ovule treatment to work really well.

It helps to watch your diet too, though I don't. Those sugars will feed yeasties.

This works awesome. Not messy or difficult and works in a day for me! I don't know why more people don't do this!!!!!
