I really need help...

I'm 22 weeks pregnant and have had a yeast infection for almost the entire pregnancy. I waited until after the first trimester to treat it with a prescription. I tried three rounds of a 7-day treatment (tercozole, I think). The infection always disappeared, then about a week after I had finished the treatment, it would come back. I also have tried vaginsol, which is an oil-based 1-night treatment. Same story: it disappeared, then came back. Inserting yogurt and garlic at night has seemed to ward the infection off a bit after finishing the prescription, but it always comes back! I have been on a modified candida diet for a week (I'm vegetarian, so I can't abstain from everything on the avoid-list, because I would have no protein source) and I have eliminated sugar from my diet for over a month. I have been taking probiotics and grapefruit seed extract. I have taken baths with cider vinegar, use only cotton loose clothing, sleep without underwear, blah blah blah. And it's coming back!

I am at a loss of what to do. My midwife says I might just have to deal with it for the remainder of my pregnancy, because my hormones throw everything out of wack. But I just can't deal with it. I really really want to beat this thing.

Please, is there anybody out there who has had success with something that I haven't tried yet?

Thank you!

How frustrating!
Have you tried any homeopathic remedies? They are safe for use during pregnancy, which may be the way to go if you're going to be dealing with this for awhile. I've never tried it, but I know a lot of ppl have good results with Vagi-Soothe.

Good luck.

gy-nat-tren is good. http://store.natren.com/Merchant2/me...=016#nutrition

Also try hydrogen peroxide, tea tree oil, salt water baths, eat lots of garlic and vit c. Oil of oregano is supposed to be a good anti-fungal, but I don't know if it is ok during pregnancy.

I would also try using a different probiotic. Natren's Healthy Trinity is a good one.
