I picked my first red strawberries yesterday and they were delicious. My plants look good this year.<br><br>
How big of a bed do you think you need to have enough to freeze and make jam? I think mine is just big enough now for fresh eating.

Ours are still green but looking plump!<br>
We only planted 8 plants this year-now I'm wishing we had done more-I cant imagine having any left to freeze!

I just started my patch this year, I have one plant that we got late last year and 25 brand new baby plants. I don't know that I'll see many strawberries this year, but am hoping I'll get a lot next year! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="thumbs up"> Sorry, I don't know how many plants might leave some left over to make jam, but I'm kind of hoping my 26 plants will do that for me, especially as they multiply.
