Hi:<br><br>
Does anybody know how difficult/easy it is to make greek yogurt?? DH loves Fage... and we really can't afford to keep buying it at the rate he eats it!<br><br>

Same as any other yogurt . Use the greek as your starter, and just let it sit about 18-24 hours depending on how thick you like it.

I would use the greek yogurt as starter and proceed as usual to make the yogurt. Then place the yogurt in cheesecloth, over a colander in the fridge, until you have the correct thickness.<br><br>
To make yogurt: gently warm milk to 180F, cool to 116F, mix with starter (about 2 or 3 tbps for 1kg of yogurt). Let it sit for 6 hours at about 116F. To achieve that, I place my jar of yogurt and a jar of boiling water (both with lids on) inside an insulated lunch bag and wrap a beach towel around the whole thing. Some people use a small cooler. Use whatever you've got.
