I wish stretch marks made pretty patterns instead of just the side to side and up and down things. They could be pretty flowers or tree or even the continents. We'd all be art.

Sigh

You know I have been around the block a few times when I start having fantasies about stretch mark patterns.

Oh I hear you, sister!

I look like I've been malled by a tiger or rabid dog or something. Pretty patterns would be much more nice to look at every day. DH once said it looked like Freddie Crouger attacked me, in the nicest way of course. They have lightened a lot since my last pregnancy but I have no doubt that they will take on their typical bright red appearance when my belly gets bigger. No amount of lotion or cream or butter makes a difference for me.

I just have to tell myself that my body is different now thanks to all the wonderful baby growing I've done, and I don't need to be ashamed of it or hide it or feel ugly. I figure there are much worse things that could happen to my body and I just try not to get hung up of society's conventional ideas of beauty.

: i hadn't thought of this, but now that i have...i'd love some flowers on my belly! with Mr. Pants i managed to be stretch mark-free till the last 3 weeks. one popped out right where he loved to stick his butt and then suddenly they were ALL OVER MY BELLY! i'm not looking forward to this part again. and like Katie, nothing makes mine any better. oh well. i didn't ever wear a bikini anyway.

LOL. My stretch marks are impressive. I mean, ultrasound techs always comment when they see them and you know that's bad! I started getting them with DS at week 13 when I was actually still losing weight from all the puking. Now that you brought it up though, I would like pretty patterns as well! I don't mind them actually, I heard that in some latin american countries the translation for what they call stretchmarks translates to "tracks of love" and I really like that, so it made me feel better about them!

When I was pregnant with ds1, I got the comment that my stretch marks looked like flames and maybe I should tattoo that on them. Now they just look like ugly stretch marks.

I managed to escape the belly stretch marks even going a week overdue. BUT I made up for it on my legs. All down the inners, the uppers, and on my CALVES! I also got a few on my hips right where my waistband sits. Sooo irritating. Even though they faded they are still uncomfortable. I'm curious about whether I will get any new ones.

I have heard of someone tatooing pretty vines and flowers along their stretch marks. Sounds painful to me, unless they are very old ones.

My mom's are like that. None on her stomach but all on her thighs. I already have a few light ones on my butt from before I was even pregnant so I have a feeling I'll get them in the same places she did. We'll see. I'm bad at remembering to use lotion and I read it doesn't really make a difference anyways.

Me too! I don't think any limb escaped, belly, butt, legs, arms...I'm surprised my head got out unscathed. I'd think it would be really painful to tattoo over as well, some of mine are stretched so thin that they hurt to just touch.

Owww. Sore subject for me too, DH was just telling me today how it would be nice if I didn't look like I was malled by a tiger and to find something so they don't get worse! I have stretch marks that come from the back of my hips and up my sides, they are llllllooooonnnnnggggg. Then more radiate from my hips to my belly, sigh. I wasn't even big when I was preg with dd and I still got them bad. I don't think this lo is going to help any, I am already more out then I ever was with her. I think I was more wide which would explain the marks up my side.

My worst shock of pregnancy the first time was boob stretch marks. Seriously, I had no clue that could or did ever happen. I was so proud of my non-stretch marked belly, until one day I saw them all over the underside of my breasts. The belly ones came and faded, but the boob ones never went away.
