Scroll down for update...

We have been having a heck of a time trying to come up with a name that we both agree on...

My choice that DH *might* agree to would be Rhiannon...Welsh goddess of fertility but at this point he is pushing for his first choice Brianna. The upside is that if I agree to Brianna then the middle name is 100% my choice. I like the name Brianna okay...it's just so common, YK? I was hoping for something a little different...more unique...hippie & cool...but since DH is really boring & likes mainstream names I think we're kinda stuck with something common...so I'd prefer something a little different for a middle name...

So...

Brianna Madaelyn (pronunced Bree-ahn-ah Mad-ah-lynn)

or

Brianna Makaylee (pronunced Bree-ahn-ah Mah-kay-lee)

We would be calling her Anna regardless...Rhiannon or Brianna...
our last name is 2 syllables...
our other girls all have long first names (7-9 letters) that gets shortened...
and the middle name has to have 8 letters (numerolgy...our kids either have 4 or 8 letter middle names)

So...thoughts? Alternate spellings? What comes to mind when you hear each one? TIA!

I love Brianna Madelyn. You know if you spelled it this way, BREANNA it would be Welsh for honorable and Fair. Then you would sort of get to compromise.

BTW, I got your surprise in the mail! You rock mama! Now I have to decide which one gets to wear it.

What about Leilani(heavenly flower, heavenly child) for a first name? Kinda like Brianna and Makalyee together
well not really but i would love this name if i was having a girl.

A boys name i like (though could be girls) is Bane (long-awaited child)

However we have Kai wayland and the baby to be is Sage Makani

What about:
Brianna Sorcha
Brianna Skye
Brianna Mercedes
Brianna Juliette
Breanna Finn
Breanna Kylee
Breanna Sistine
?

I really want to stick with a middle name that has 4 or 8 letters (in keeping with our other kids middle names) but I'm having a hard time with the name sounding right.
I should mention that although her given name would be Brianna/Breanna she would probably be called Anna most of the time...so the middle name should go with Anna just as well as Brianna, KWIM?

I can't do Brianna...it's just too common & boring.

So...thoughts on these?...

Anastasia (Anna)

Anneliese (Anna) added to the list

Arianna (Anna)

Angelina

Marianna (Anna)

Mercedes off the list

Serenity

Sofia

Tatiana (Anna) added to the list

I like all of your choices, but Marianna is gorgeous!

I am partial to any name with Anna. My DD is Anneliese. To date I have only met 1 other Anneliese and she is a grown woman. I like that the nickname is common enough for everyone to get right, and easy to spell, but the full name is original.

We both love Anneliese...but had never seen it spelled that way before...only Annalise...and 'annal' looks like something to do with your ass
I'm going to run that spelling past DH right now...

awww I like Rhiannon!! It reminds me of my daughter's name. I wish I had found it when I was looking for spellings for her name. (RayeAnne) It could have had more meaning. Anywhoo I like Bryanna with a y.

I love Sofia....I wanted that name but it was vetoed by my husband.
: So, that would be my vote! I also love the name Anna....you've mentioned that you would use that as a nickname for numerous names. Have you thought about just using the name Anna instead of having to come up with a name that can use it as a shortform?

If you want honesty, I'm not such a fan of Mercedes....all I can think about is the car.
And I'm not sold on Serenity either, maybe I'm just partial to more traditional names. But that's just my humble opinion.

I like Brianna Madaelyn - though I kind of like the French spelling of Madeline better (I like simple name spellings best).

My favorite of those is Angelina.
So pretty. I also like Mercedes a lot because of The Count of Monte Cristo, however the car asscoiation would prevent me from ever using it. :p

And I agree about Brianna-- it's too common now. Too bad!
